American Monarchy and the French Revolution

I was thinking...if the US becomes a constitutional monarchy instead of a republic, what effect would that have on the French Revolution. Would the republican Jacobin faction fail to take hold and the moderates' plan of constitutional monarchy survive? Or would the revolution simply be averted by Louis XVI taking the lessons of the American monarchy to heart and instituting reforms on his own? What's your opinion on the matter?

As far as I know, Auguste WAS inclined to be more conciliatory but the majority of the clergy/nobility were reactionary enough that they pulled him along. I think even if Washington had become a constitutional monarch, the Jacobins would still have been steeped in radicalism. Maybe the king is more resistant to the reactionaries but I don't think it's going to effect the macro-picture of the Revolution much. It's still probably going to get radicalized due to resistance and then explode into an orgy of violence though the details and the aftermath are beyond my ken.

In my opinion, France was going to explode no matter for the reasons my fellow Minnesotan explained. One thing I want to add is this, the French King would need to have a stronger force of personality to avoid the Revolution in its full force and create the reforms that you would like to bring about.
One other possibility is have the Marquis De Lafayette not become publicly disgraced as a result of the aftermath of the Tennis Court Oath and then the next Spring's Mayoral Election (this is on Wikipedia), Lafayette is popular enough in the Estates General prior to the election to bring off what you want. However I am not an expert on the French Rev. so some others on this site might know more.
