I imagine some sweeping southward invasion from the great plains devastating Mesoamerica, and the Andean states following suite as trade routes are disrupted and instability becomes the norm.
Or maybe a vinland-gone-wrong could result in some northern tribes adopting viking weaponry and raiding tactics, and spreading it to the rest of the continent through raiding and pillaging.
