(CNN) - Vermont Governor, Howard Dean, just announced his candidacy for President of the United States in the 2004 election, adding to the 9 Democratic candidates trying to unseat George W. Bush. Governor Dean formed an exploratory committee to evaluate a presidential election campaign earlier, on May of 2002. Howard Dean was previously the 76th Lieutenant governor of Vermont, and also the Chair of the National Governors Associations from 1994 to 1995.
