This plots out so much from the classical and medieval eras... just don't start checking it out when you have little time... or you'll start doimg things like comparing anglo-saxon settlement patterns with areas that are within a days march of Roman fortifications. PS, I pulled that one out at random, but there actually is a strong correlation.
