The Chicago Daily Tribune was a famously right-wing paper being no friend of either Roosevelt or Truman, thanks to a combination of an ongoing printers strike, it being a close race, and relying too heavily on their Washington correspondent they printed the now famous 'Dewey Defeats Truman' headline and story. If some of the factors had been different and the Tribune decided to hedge their bets does anyone know if there were there any newspapers that were strong enough Dewey supporters to make a similar mistake? I know that there were a couple of other newspapers and magazines who made the similar mistakes but they were fairly small organisations, I was thinking major newspapers or magazines. Thanks.
