Alternative white settlement in sub-Saharan Africa

I'm posting this here because even though the POD might need to be in the late 19th Century, the main drivers and effects will be in the 20th century.

If Africa had been carved up differently between European powers, which parts would have been desirable for white settlers that weren't colonised in our timeline? It seems like the places that most attracted settlement were places with either good farming or good mining prospects. Are there any areas of sub-Saharan Africa that had very good farming or mining potential for the first half of the 20th Cenutry, but which weren't settled in our timeline?

Short answer: no.
Long answer: the only parts of subsaharan Africa where white men didnt have major health problems were the bits either too cool or too dry for mosquito borne diseases. So: otl's South Africa, the High Veldt of Rhodesia and Highlands of Kenya, and the deserts of Namibia and Botswana. And the latter, obviously, were useless for agriculture.

You asked for a tough POD. You need to avoid WW1 and you need to find massive funding (at least in their minds) to build an area up to Western European settlement. You basically need a true Ego type project. But once you have avoided WW1 and have the funding, there are places to do it. So for areas.

1) Cape area of South Africa is good. You just need more immigrants flows.

2) Rhodesia and rest of South Africa are good, but you probably need serious ethnic cleansing to open up enough land for the Europeans.

3) Angola with SWA is a nice prospect. I have played with the POD, but it is just not plausible to get the Germans to spend the money. But the near ASB on funding at least POD would be Germany and UK don't have a falling out, and the UK supports limited German colonial interest that don't conflict with the UK major colonial interest. Angolan highlands end up with Germany. This part of TL is not too hard. Next part is the hard part. Germany offers huge funding to build RR linking 4 coastal ports to RR network on interior highlands. Then funds massive subsidies to get whites to move to the model colony. It is an ego project. Also, need some massive dams and water movement system to catch rainfall on east side of mountains.

4) Small area (probably size of Switzerland) in Cameroon is good. It is the tea growing region if you want to look it up.

5) Rwanda is good, but have to clear population.

6) Highlands of East Africa are good.

I was looking at these maps for agricultural potential:

I'm guessing we can rule out West Africa and the population dense Great Lakes. But that leaves Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique as places that didn't have much rural white settlement in our timeline.

Wise-Colonization Policy would have Make Africa White

To quote John McEnroe, "You cannot be serious!".

Yeah, let's see, I don't know how many indigenous people were in Africa at the time of the Scramble for Africa, but let's say it's around, oh, 100,000,000. Whatever the number actually was, the amount of bloodshed in making Africa white would've made the Mongol invasions look like a drive-by shooting.

What about if we went further back in time, and looked at achieving this by increasing the extent of Berber settlement, beyond North Africa and into Sub-Saharan Africa? Sure, making Africa majority-white would probably still involve a level of bloodshed comparable to the Mongol invasions. But it could also have been as relatively bloodless as the manner in which India (which also had a comparable indigenous population to the entirety of Africa) gained a majority white population (over 80% Indo-Aryan).
