Alternative fates for the "New World"

If the Norse colonize north America I would imagine the natives would gain Western illness immunity and not die out as much by the time other European nations arrive, making it much harder for them to gain a foothold and a much more native-dominant world, save for the Canada/Atlantic Coast.

So, thinking about the Pacific Coast trade route option (after all, how far would Europe have been able to develop if the Silk Road/Route had never formed? In all likelihood, not a lot). Can anyone think of a good name to use? Personally, I'm inclined to go with either the Cotton Route or the Coca Route, but if any of you can think up a better commodity to focus on...

Coca route sounds pretty cool.
 
For what is worth, one could use the alleged ocean going exploration of Tupaq Yupanki for a POD. Guestimates place it around the late 1460s, and I’ve seen some interesting arguments for his arrival to, at least, Easter Island.

If there’s a convincing reason for the Inkas to go back, and continue exploration, and the European arrival for whatever reason is delayed, that might lead to an curious scenario with the Polynesians becoming the middlemen between SA and Oceania.
