Name of Conflict; Great South American War
Date; September 7th 1932- August 8th 1936
Causes of Conflict; The conflict over oil in the rich Chaco region of Paraguay caused Bolivia to invade, however Paraguay was supported by Argentina and Uruguay, while Bolivia was supported by Peru and Brazil. Regional rivalry caused Ecuador to attack Peru (with Chilean and Argentinian support), suddenly the war declarations rained in and most of the Continent was in war.
Results; Paraguay was able to easily beat back the Bolivian army, but was not prepared for a Brazilian invasion, not even with Argentinan support. A new Bolivian counteroffensive caused Paraguay to lose the Chaco povince, meanwhile the battle for Uruguay between Brazil and Argentina lead to one of the bloodiest battles in the world, but eventually the Brazilian were beaten back. Peru was pretty much fighting a defensive two front war versus Chile and Ecuador. In 1935 the US, Mexico, Colombia and Venezulea invited the belligerent powers to a Peace Conference. The treaty of Bogota gave the Chaco region to Bolivia, but allowed Ecuador to annex parts of Northern Peru. Also Brazil agreed to evacuate Paraguayan territory and allow Argentina, Urugay and Paraguay to form the Federation of La Plata. The war lead to a more Pro Axis standpoint for the Brazilian dictator Vargas, and the national shame eventually made Peru a socialist state.
Other notes; The Latin American involvment in WW2 was all about Vargas attempt to break the Federation of La Plata. The mutinies of German La Platans dutring WW2 was because of disappontment that the La Platan government decided to support the Allies.

Belligerents (side one); Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador
Belligerents (side two); Brazil, Bolivia, Peru
Significant battles; First Chaco invasion, 2nd Chaco invasion, battle of Uruguay, the Amazon River battle.

Name of Conflict: The Sixty Minute War AKA Fools War

Date (began, finnished etc): June 19th, 2012, 4:19 PM--June 19th, 2012, 5:19 PM(approx)

Causes of Conflict: Terrorist attack on Istanbul

Results: Total destruction of Ottoman Empire, Saudi Arabian Confedaration, Iran

Belligerents (Side One): Ottoman Empire

Belligerents (Side two): Saudi Arabian Confedaration, Iran

Commanders (Side One): Ottoman Prime Minister Osama Hussien

Commanders (Side Two): Saudi Arabian Confedaration Acting head General Muhammad Al-Malki

Significant Battles/Actions: Destruction of Istanbul by a large nuclear device in what is now deemed a terrorist attack by radical Christian extremeists.

Other Notes: The attack on Istanbul was poorly timed, as it was during an international crisis over a small boarder clash with the Saudi Arabians while the major players in the Ottoman government were in military buildings in the capital. After the attack, the surviving Generals assumed it was the start of a nuclear war and launched missiles against the Saudi Arabian Confedaration and their allies in Iran.

The death toll is estimated to be over 100 million, and it was the start of a world crisis known as "The Chaos" with oil prices skyrocketing.

Name of Conflict: Invasion of Scotland (part of the Cold War between the United States and Nazi Germany)

Date (began, finished etc): June 27, 1953-August 25, 1953

Causes of Conflict: President Thomas E. Dewey said in one of his 1952 campaign speechs that he would remove the Nazi menace and bring democracy back to Europe. This was widely supported because of the belief that "the German menace" had spies in America and this had boosted Dewey's popularity. He was elected for a 2nd term on January 20, 1953. The invasion began when American troops coming in from bases in Iceland and the Faroe Islands landed on the Shetland Islands. The Americans successfully defeated the British (and possibly, German) defenders in the Shetlands and Orkneys but 3/5ths of the American invasion force was wiped out when they tried to land at Thurso. The United States was forced to make peace and bring their remaining troops out.

Results: American defeat

Belligerents (Side One): United States

Belligerents (Side two): Britain (and possibly Germany)

Commanders (Side One): President Thomas E. Dewey, General George Patton

Commanders (Side Two): Head of State Oswald Mosley, Deputy Robert Forgan

Significant Battles/Actions: Battle of the Shetlands, Battle of the Orkneys, Thurso Landing.

Other Notes: This part of the Cold War was when the the United States and Germany were the closest to nuclear war.

Name of Conflict: Third Anglo-American War, aka Whiskey War, aka Plan Red

Results: Hundreds of thousands of civilian casualties. US-Canadian border militarised, but returns to status quo ante bellum. Canadian government forced to stop rum-running. Prohibition continues into 1960s.

Belligerents (Side One): Canada, British Empire

Belligerents (Side two): United States

Commanders (Side One): Canada: Prime Minister Arthur Meighen, Lt-Gen George Pearkes, RADM Walter Hose
British Empire: Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, CIGS General Lord Cavan, 1SL Admiral of the Fleet David Beatty

Commanders (Side Two):
President Calvin Coolidge, CNO Admiral Edward Eberle, CSA Maj-Gen John Hines

Significant Battles/Actions: US capture of Halifax by landings in St Margaret's Bay after poison gas strike, Royal Navy's retaliatory shelling of New York with gas, major naval battles in Pacific and Atlantic including FAA attack on Pearl Harbor, Canadian raiders' brief capture of Seattle and Minneapolis

Other Notes: Definitively ended the Anglo-American alliance, resulting in US siding against Japan and UK in WW2.
