Alternate WW1 alliances

Russia and Austria-Hungary I don't think would be on the same side, since they had a big rivalry over the Balkans.

I wasn't aware of the USA's good relations with Russia. Still, barring a cosmic act of stupidity from the Anglo-Germans the USA won't be entering the war. The Germans won't need to engage in submarine warfare against shipping at all with the British on their side. The USA will be annoyed by the blockade yes, but that didn't bring them in OTL.

So, continuing from where I left off with my scenario. Russia falls into civil war and chaos as OTL, only this time with Trotsky at the helm. Even though he places a like-minded henchman as head of the Red Army, whoever that is won't quite have his organizational vision and ability. Therefore it takes slightly longer to organize the Red Army into an effective fighting force, which means it takes longer to defeat the Whites.

Germany turns Poland, Ukraine, Finland, and the Baltic States(do they do the same for Belarus, I'm not sure about that one) into puppet kingdoms with German monarchs.

The French colonial empire is dismembered, though I think some of the worthless desert bits are left to them along with possibly Algeria. I'm guessing Britain gets the lion's share of those colonies; after all Germany will be busy in Europe. Germany may get the French West African coast, Middle Congo and some other places, Britain gets whatever is left that it wants to take. I'm guessing that Britain takes Indochina as well(which does not bode well for Siam, since their independence was largely due to their usefulness as a buffer between the British and the French in SE Asia). The Brits take over Madagascar, Australia gets New Caledonia and French Polynesia. This WWI will be interesting in the development of Australian/New Zealander identity, since Gallipoli played a big role in the development of a separate identity.

The Italian colonial empire goes to the Brits. Germany may also sell the Brits Tanganyka since it's worthless anyway and the Brits will want to build the Cape-Cairo railway.

OK. If something is listed on a side that means the poster WANTS IT TO BE ON THAT SIDE. I prefer the spirit of the poster to pointless captain obviousness.
US capital and later the fleet would pose a massive challenge to Britain and allies, whether or not it joins late or early. It's always interesting to postulate that scenario. Massive battles in the middle of the Atlantic? Oh, yes.
In the Pacific the US would have it's hands full with both Japan and the BFE squadron, but when it has time to send ships away from the Atlantic they should fare well enough, as Japan is still a junior power. China is in trouble, I'm not sure how they got into a world war but... mostly it would be Japanese/British dominance on the sea and the British fighting in Central Asia, but with the Chinese punishing Japanese expeditions that get too deep inside enemy territory.
The Italian front would go similar to OTL, as well as Europe in general. While the French and Russians will have problems with British naval power should the US join quickly that would eventually get solved.

How about the US or unofficially the 'American Empire', British Empire, German Empire, Austrian Empire, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Kingdom of Finland, Kingdom of Lithuania, Kingdom of Italy, Kingdom of Greece, Kingdom of Siam (Thailand), the Empire of Japan, eventually the opportunistic: Guatemala, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, and other weaker American native uprisings against the established 'Spanish class' rule.

(Known as the Allies or the 'Imperialist Axis' by all except the US and the squeamish British. Favors a clear global order in which the Advanced first world nations bind together and for the good of all 'rule their rightful domains' [as much as you and conquer...])

VS.

France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Russian Empire, China, Korea, Ottoman Empire, Persia, Mexico, Brazil, and eventually almost the rest of the world

(nationalist populist league, or 'the compact and/or allies' favors ethnically pure nation states [ottomans and Russians are exceptions] but more diverse in opinions than the allies; inherently more reactionary than the 'Axis or Imperialists,' less co-ordination and more independent action as well)

^^

I'm looking for a state of world war that lasts for 40 years... with the world becoming ever more polarized into the 2 camps...

Even though I'm rooting for the US's allies ^^
