I read recently that, if the nineteenth and twentieth centuries had evolved differently, France could have ended up siding with Austro-Hungary during the First World War and Germany with Britain and Russia.
So, building off of that...
This is probably at least slightly ASB, but let's just assume that France and Germany keep their systems of government and everything else the same, but end up on the opposite sides in WWI from in true history. From this scenario, I have some questions:
Which powers would Italy most likely have sided with?
Would Britain and Germany have both invaded mainland France during this alternate First World War?
Which side would most likely have won in the conflict, and what reparations would have been demanded?
