Alternate wives for Henry VIII?

Part of my upcoming Fitzroy TL will involve Jane Seymour failing to produce a male heir before her death (same time as OTL), giving Henry VIII motivation to marry as soon as possible. The question is who?

What suitable candidates were there for an English Royal marriage in the late 1530's?

I think he faces the same choices that he did even with Jane dying producing a male heir - Cromwell pushing him into a germanic protestant marriage. So i would look to germany - but that leads us to the Duke of Cleves daughters - which i take it you want to avoid??

But Jane did produce a male heir before her death. It just happened to be a few minutes before her death. Are you suggesting that ITTL she doesn't produce a male at all? Just a bit confused as to the wording, is all.

Anyway, I have to agree with mcdnab. Cromwell was pressing for a German marriage, and for a while it seemed a wise idea. Indeed, an England which properly tied itself with Germany and interfered with the Protestants' wars could be interesting...might I suggest Marie of Saxony? At the age of 22 she is ripe for childbirth, and from an even more important German Protestant state than Cleves. Technically she is married off in 1536 (OTL) but that's only to the Duke of Pomerania-Wolgast so it shouldn't be too hard to fix. No-one important will care if the Duke has to turn to Mecklemburg or some other place for a wife instead ;)

errrrr, she died 12 days after her son was born.

I believe OP is asking for something like "WI she and her son both die at childbirth"

Exactly. I thought that was clear enough but I was mistaken.

So to reiterate, Jane Seymour gives birth to a son who dies within a few days. She dies a few days later. Where can Henry find a new bride?

I think that same women would be considered as in OTL, with addition of Henry being more in favour of marriage. Not having a male heir and so on he would want to marry to get one.
