Tales of the Archipelago

...........................
Much like their Airbending neighbours the Fire Nation Archipelago was always a deeply spiritual place. It was the strength of theirs beliefs that allowed the Fire Sages to unify the Island centuries past, bringing an end to the Era of Warlords. Unlike the Air Monks, however, who only ruled a few hundred thousand in their four corners of the world combined, the Fire Sages had dozens of millions of subjects to deal with. What developed was a deeply complex hierarchy and rigid system of beliefs and authority, that subjugated every man, woman and child to the temporal and spiritual rule of the Fire Sages Council.
.............................
Fire Lord Ikaze had been a proiminent Fire Sage, attaining their highest rank. Unlike most of his brethren, he held the controversial belief that man had grown powerful enough to subjugate fire. He "proved" that belief by slaying the White Dragon Anghar, the first time man had done such a thing. Ikaze then proclaimed himself "Fire Lord", and with the support of secular feudal lords such as Lord Lee, and the commander of the Amber Guard, General Fang Tu, he seized power for himself. His ascencion would usher the "Era of the Bright Dawn", as it was meant to signify a new age for the Fire Nation. Under his directions, the position of Fire Lord would become one of absolute power, backed by supposed divine gifts, and the bloodline would approach divine veneration. His rule would be marked by early industrialization efforts, Dragon Hunting, and increasing nationalism and militarism, which would culminate in the beginning of the Hundred Years War at the hand of his grandson Fire Lord Sozin.
...............................
Prince Tezulon was the cousin of Fire Lord Sozin, and his elder by 9 years. As a member of the royal family, and nephew to a Fire Lord, Tezulon had a privileged life, and was educated at the prestigious Yellow Moon Academy. Growing up, he expressed ardent support for the Nationalist and Militarist ideas that had been formenting in tha nation, as well as for the continuous industrialization of the country. He made himself a central figure in the "Imperialist Movement" that marked the rule of Sozin, founding the "Society of the Fire Lily", which preached the superiority of Fire nation citizens and culture over the rest of the world, and advocated for expansion as both a material need and a moral good. He attained the position of Chancellor, and shaped many of the policies of the nation during his 45 years tenure, before dying an old man of 102 during an inspection of the Colonies.
Small question has me confused: Is it possible for Prince Tezulon to rule two months after his death?

That part of the wikibox crosses something akin to the BC/AD centerpoint; so its quite possible that I am, in fact, reading it wrong...

Damn, that was my mistake.

Saturn Solid Rocket Booster

Initial plans for the Saturn VE suggested that it would be paired with either two or four UA1207 solid rocket boosters initially developed for the USAFs Manned Orbiting Laboratory in the 1960s. However, as development continued it became clear that they would not be able to comfortably lift some of the heavier payloads envisaged in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The Saturn Solid Rocket Booster segments were manufactured at Thiokol’s plant in Utah before being transported to Cape Canaveral. Here they were assembled and checked out in the Inert Component Building and within the Mobile Erection and Processing Structure (MEPS). Due to the size limitations of the Vehicle Assembly Building, the solid rocket boosters were attached to the launch vehicle at the pad via the MEPS, which was transported to LC-39 via the crawler transporter.

With two boosters, a two stage Saturn VE could lift 316,400lbs to LEO, while four strap-ons would see 352,299lbs – over 175 tons, placed into orbit.

While NASA had significant experience at retrieving spent rocket stages, developed since the first recovery of a S-I+ stage in 1976, the Saturn Solid Rocket Booster was the first booster to be recovered and reused in its entirety.

Stephen Aloyisus McGarrett (December 30, 1920 – January 21, 1998), was an American law enforcement officer who was the inaugural chief of the Hawaiian State Police, otherwise known as "Hawaii Five-O". As Chief of Police, McGarrett served twenty-nine years, becoming legendary with several high profile cases, most notably his long-standing opposition of Chinese spy-turned-criminal mastermind Wo Fat.

Though he was infamous for having "zero tolerance" for any sort of crime, dislike of major departmental changes, and being a general workaholic, McGarett was also well-respected and was regarded as a "firm but fair officer". He retired in 1980 after some involvement in the M Station Hawaii case and his arrest of Wo Fat at a tropical Pacific island. After his career, he handed his position as head of State police to his longstanding second-in-command and later Governor Danny Williams. McGarett lived in privacy until his death in 1998. In a poll held earlier in the year, he was voted amongst the 100 Greatest Law Enforcement Officers in American History, alongside Frank Columbo, Eliott Ness, Richard Tracy, Joe Friday, Matt Dillon, and Wyatt Earp.

His nephew, Stephen J. McGarrett, succeeded him in 2010 as Chief of the Hawaiian Police Department, and served until 2020 in that capacity.

Edmond Louis Dantes, Count of Monte Cristo, was a French nobleman, sailor, adventurer, and buisnessman. Following his imprisonment in the Chateau D'If as a Bonapartist, he escaped before returning in 1838 as the Count of Monte Cristo. In this capacity was infamous for being the mastermind behind "the year of the scandals" in 1838, which saw three high-profile figures of French society, namely Fernand Mondgeo, Comte de Morcef, the banker, Baron Danglars, and Gérard de Villefort, then Chief Prosecutor to the King, exposed of various crimes and disgraced.

The identity of the Count remained a mystery for a few years, until author Alexandre Dumas (pere) published an account of the affair in 1844. Though once thought of as a dramatizaion of the scandals, modern evidence later came to light that Dantes was indeed the count. Dantes had related his story to Dumas and collaborator Auguste Maquet via letters and private interviews. The veracity of the account itself has been doubted by scholars, though most agree that it "generally" is authentic. Most doubt that he discovered the legendary treasure of the Count Spada as portrayed in the account. Experts generally agree that Dantes did not even meet his cellmate Abbe Faria, who supposedly bequeathed him the location of the treasure upon his death. (The reason being, Chateau D'If did not have either man as a prisoner.)

It is agreed upon however, that Dantes did escape imprisonment and spent several years travelling the world. He ammassed a massive fortune in the process, which according to Dumas, was valued at around 80 million francs. In his travels he met, freed, and married his future spouse, Haydee Tebelin, daughter of Ali Pasha and his mistress, Kyra Vassiliki, then a slave in the Ottoman Empire. Following 1838, Dantes dissappeared from all historical records. The last that is known of him is him relating to Dumas that he had planned to marry Haydee. With this he also revealed he made her heir to his fortune with her offcial title as the Comtesse De Monte Cristo as a "dowry".

Basically Yeardley leaves instead of Maude's voice actor. I couldn't come up with a better episode title..
imo, I don't think that they'd kill off (which is what I think they did ittl) one of the main characters, if only because then they couldn't get money off of like merchandise and all that.

They don't even need to kill her off, just say she got accepted into some fancy private school outside of Springfield as a way to write her out and still leave enough room for references or non-speaking cameos

I like this one as a potential origin to the Fire Lord position, although I should point out the dating here contradicts the recent new Avatar Kyoshi book, which establishes that Fire Lord Zoryu was around by 295 BG, and that there was a Fire Lord Chaeryu was around sometime before him.
