The 1776 United Nations Transtemporal Parliamentary Election occurred on July 5th, 1776 in order to elect a new Timekeeper. This election would create the 21st Transtemporal Assembly. The 21st Transtemporal Assembly, led by Fidel Castro, would lead to the creation of multiple new Transtemporal Laws, including the Hitler Transtemporal Travel Exemption Act (A transtemporal law forbidding the use of Time Travel to directly assassinate historical leaders), the Diffy Family Civilian Protection Act (A law created to curb the use of transtemporal travel by non-governmental bodies), and the Hill Valley Temporal Exclusion Act (A law that prevents the use of Time Travel within the region of Hill Valley, California due to the events of the Biff Tannen Incident). This is start the more authoritarian nature of the UNTP in enforcing their laws on Time Travel through the use of United Nations Timekeeping Forces. The UNTP, while normally uninvolved in extraterrestrial affairs, would study the result of the Blip in 2018 and attempt to reverse the effects, mildly altering time to turn Dr. Robert Bruce Banner into the Hulk in 2005 as a way to reverse the effects of the Blip.
How the actual fuck does the UNTP work?
The 2018 American federal election was held on Thursday 1 May 2018 to elect members of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the American Parliament. The writs of election for the 2018 election were issued by Governor General Zalmay Khalilzad on 29 March 2018.
The Conservative Party, led by incumbent Prime Minister John Bush, won 396 seats and subsequently formed a majority government. The Liberal Party, led by former Prime Minister Tim Kaine, won 301 seats and remained the Official Opposition. The Christian Party, led by incumbent Deputy Prime Minister Rafael Cruz, won 32 seats. The Labor Party, led by Tulsi Gabbard, won 18 seats, its worst result since 1994. The Moderate Party, led by Joe Manchin, won 13 seats, its worst result since 1994. The Libertarian Party, led by Nicholas Sarwark, saw its best election results with 8 seats and for the first time received over 5% of the vote. The Green Party, led by David Chernushenko, entered the House of Representatives with 5 seats after being ejected from the House in the 2014 election.
Following the election, the Bush–Cruz coalition was dissolved and the second Bush cabinet was sworn in on 23 May 2018.
The 2014 federal election resulted in a hung parliament with the Conservatives as the largest party. The Conservatives subsequently formed a coalition with the Christian Party. The Liberals became the official opposition and Labor became the third party. While members of the Moderates and the Libertarians were elected to the House of Representatives, both failed to achieve the number of MPs—twenty-four—for official party status. Libertarian leader Ronald Paul announced his resignation shortly after the election and was succeeded by Phoenix Central MP Nicholas Sarwark. Prime Minister John McCain announced his resignation on 5 January 2015 and was succeeded by Minister of Health John Bush.
The four years between the 2014 election and the 2018 election were characterised by the economic recovery from the Great Recession. The Conservative campaign focussed on the popularity of Prime Minister John Bush with the slogans John Can Fix It and #AllInForJohn, or simply John!
Although John! was merely a variation used since his first bid for the premiership of Florida in 1994, it was widely ridiculed.
The Conservatives also received criticism for forming a coalition government with the right-wing Christian Party in 2014, and the Liberals accused them of submitting to reactionary forces and deviating from their moderate platform. The Conservatives promised to balance the budget in five years, extend background checks on firearm licenses, cut corporate taxes and increase military expenditures.
The Liberal campaign slogan was Stronger Together. The Liberals promised to balance the budget in twenty-one years, cut corporate taxes, plant five billion trees, increase healthcare funding and raise the federal minimum wage.
The Christian campaign slogan was Together, We will Win. The Christians promised to balance the budget in two years, eliminate all subsidies for businesses, withdraw from the United Nations Agreement on Climate Change, ending all funding to promote multiculturalism and eliminate the carbon tax.
The Labor campaign slogan was Big, Structural Change. Labor promised to replace America's electoral system with proportional representation, build 1 million social housing units, raise the federal minimum wage and increase the corporate income tax.
The Moderate campaign slogan was Not Left. Not Right. Forward Together. The Moderates promised to raise corporate taxes, increase spending on healthcare, nationalize key industries and provide free education for six years during a person's adult life.
The Libertarian campaign slogan was Live Free. The Green slogan was An America That Works
Opinion polls suggested that the Conservatives would emerge as the largest party, but it was not certain if they would be able to form a majority government.
On 2 May 2018 Liberal leader Tim Kaine called Conservative leader John Bush to concede the election. Kaine resigned the office of party leader several hours later and was succeeded by deputy leader Gary Peters, who remained interim leader until a new leader was elected in April 2019.
Christian Party leader Rafael Cruz and Moderate leader Joe Manchin also resigned.
