I think the Constitution prevents Americans from accepting foreign titles or from giving people fancy titles. It doesn't say anything about marrying anyone who ALREADY has those titles.

I think JFK Jr. can marry Princess Di, but he can't become, like, the Duke of London or a member of the Court of St. James.
Since the Titles of Nobility Amendment was never ratified and probably would not be revived even under these conditions, all the Constitution says is that the federal and state governments cannot grant titles of nobility and that employees and members of the federal government ("no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under [the United States]") cannot accept titles except with the consent of Congress. A private citizen not employed by the government has no such restrictions, and arguably neither would an employee of a state or local government. There also doesn't seem to be any requirement that people surrender any titles that they already had upon taking office.

Now, JFK Jr. probably wouldn't go fishing for any British titles since at the time of marriage he would obviously be running for President and might be soured on the idea by his wife, but he absolutely could do so if he wanted without running afoul of the Constitution.

OK. So if JFK Jr. The Private Citizen, accepted titles, it wouldn't be unconstitutional (although it would be politically troubling).

But JFK Jr. the President can't accept noble titles.

Quick aside, isn't there a bit of irony in an Irish-American marrying a British royal?

Without the consent of Congress. If Congress says it's okay, JFK Jr. the President can take any title he wants. Like, if he married Princess Victoria of Sweden instead (never mind the age difference, this is just an example), then he could be Prince-Consort of Sweden if Congress said "Sure!". Not that that would happen (can you imagine a President literally in bed with a foreign power? Even Sweden?), but there's nothing Constitutionally forbidding it provided he gets that consent.

Still, the idea of a President being a official member of the British crown just oozes cheap jokes, satire, and a good deal of conspiracy theories.

If Rush Limbaugh existed ITTL, here's what he might say about JFK Jr's marriage.

"It isn't enough for Johnny Jr. to sell our tax dollars to his socialist-liberal health care plan, oh no. He has become less subtle in his plan to destroy American freedom. Now Johnny Jr. plans to tie the knot with British royalty. Two hundred years after Washington kicked out the British, Johnny Jr. plans on letting them back in! If that isn't reason, I don't what is folks!"

My man Lyndon Larouche is also going to feel very much justified ITTL

This has been around for awhile, but I thought people might enjoy this one infobox from my timeline Dreams of Liberty: A Failure at Princeton, which I'm personally proud of due to the fact that I think I did relatively well on many features of the box, or I at least did better than I usually do.

Anyway, the basic gist of this scenario is that after the American Revolution fails ITTL, the Cape Colony of the VOC undergoes a revolution led by Aaron Burr, thus resulting in the establishment of the United Dominion of Riebeeckia, a nation loyal to Empress Victoria of Germania. The 1835 election is the second since the end of the Cape Revolutionary War, and the first in which the Federalist Party had been contested for the chancellery.

I would! I have no idea what the POD would be, but it seems like an entirely different world would exist by the present day.

The original thought I had was what if the O'Neills were able to solidify hold on Ireland. Originally was going to have them be catholic, but then at that the Current Kingdom still being a Pagan Kingdom would make the world more interesting, so honestly don't really have a particular POD in mind but probably around the birth of christ.

Well, that opens the door for an Irish colonial empire, as well as numerous other bizarre aspects for the TL, which could have some very interesting possibilities.

The 2015 East German general election was held on 15 November 2015 to elect all 400 members of the Volkskammer. The incumbent CDU/DSU-FDP coalition lost its majority; the SDP held the balance of power. With the support of the Labour Party and Green-Left, PDS leader Gregor Gysi approached the SDP leadership for coalition discussions. However, the SDP rejected talks with PDS, instead announcing their support for the CDU/DSU. Christian Hirte continued as Prime Minister after negotiating a coalition agreement.
