Stuyvesant: Vermont in the American Republic
Vermont is unique among the States of the American Republic, as none of its parties are officially aligned with any of the three Electoral Alliances of the Unity Coalition, the Sovereignty Alliance, and the Front for Progress. However each of the State's three parties can typically be assumed to vote with each Alliance's New England parties. This is reflective of the state's self-dependent nature, and also one of the few states to have escaped the effects of the Second Civil War.
Anti Masonic.png

Firstly the Anti-Masonic Party, which is a spiritual successor to the 19th-Century Party of the same name, which achieved success as America's first third party to win electoral votes with William Wirt's candidacy in the 1832 Presidential Election. It was founded by reformist elements of the Opposition to Autocracy Party, which itself was the alliance of Anti-Pershing National Unionists and Anti-San Francisco Populists during the Interconstitutional Era, following the reinstatement of Federal Authority. Despite predating the Front for Progress by almost fifty years, it quickly aligned itself behind them following their meteoric rise during the 1984 Federal Election.

The Anti-Masons were embroiled in scandal when State Senate Leader Lebenstein made disparaging comments towards Jews in a speech on “Masonic abuse” in the banking industry. The Mountain Party was quick to use this to attack the Anti-Masons after they refused to eject him from the party for his remarks. The Union Party was predictably mum on the topic, which is consistent with their party's history with the notoriously anti-Semitic ARA.

The Mountain Party was formed as a splinter from the now-defunct Vermont branch of the Yankee Party, who believed the national party was not doing enough to protect the environment in the region. They are mainly in favor of greater funding for the rural regions of the State, which is usually enough to have the Union Party support them in limited supply agreements. They focus on the small-towns of Southern and Central Vermont, although they have made inroads to the rural north, traditional stronghold of the Anti-Masons.

Last but certainly not least, the Union Party, which was formed by remnants of Charles Lindbergh [Sr.]'s Patriotic Union militias in the dying days of the Second Civil War and the strife of the Interconstitutional Era. The Unionists dominate the North East Kingdom, as they allegedly take violent actions against outsiders, or anyone who vocally support any of the other parties. They have always skirted the law, with their party badge containing symbolism of the ARA that is technically banned, but they claim is only “Sticking up for their heritage”

SoldierOfChrist: Norwood Mackie
Norwood Mackie was a Texan Army officer, Jesuit chaplain, and statesman who served as the 31st President of the Republic of Texas from July 1954 until his assassination in 1969. In Texas, he is commonly referred to as Father Mackie, or by his initials, ANM.

Mackie was born in Benthuysen, Hunt County in 1916. He was the fourth son of Andrew Mackie, a clothier, and Marian Short Mackie, a midwife. Both his parents were devout Roman Catholics. His grandfather Thomas had migrated from Ulster to Texas in 1873 to work on the railroads. At age 17, Mackie graduated from Our Lady of the Assumption Seminary School in Bishop and joined the Society of Jesus. In 1935, he graduated Saint Paul Commissary College and was designated a chaplain in the Army of the Republic of Texas. From 1936 to 1938, he served military congregations in Nacogdoches and Bird’s Fort. Upon the outbreak of the Second Continental War, Mackie was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and sent to the Trans-Mississippi front to fight against the Anglo-Americans. He received 17 medals, decorations, and awards, including the Texas Valor Cross, and ended the war with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He was promoted to full Colonel in 1946.

As Colonel, Mackie was the Deputy Director of Army Intelligence before transferring to the Quartermaster Department. In February 1948, Mackie was appointed Deputy Commissioner for Veterans Pensions by President Lazard. He was removed from his post May of that same year after being accused of Communist sympathies, and was recommended for ten-months instruction at l’École de guerre in Paris.

Mackie returned to Texas to find a greatly changed political environment. The reactionary Lazard had been ousted in favor of the much more amenable General Alphonse E. Ames, who promised an end to Old Guard paranoia in favor of “Honor, Progress, and Bread”. He restructured the steel and shipbuilding industries, raised wages for agrarian laborers, and formed a provisional committee for revisions to the Official Texas Bible. Selected by Ames as a potential protégé to cultivate, Mackie received the prestigious appointment of Provost of St. Paul Commissary College. Following the downfall of Ames ally James P. Thomas, Mackie ascended to the office of Secretary of State in 1953. He came to represent the conservative tendency in the military, and clashed frequently with the President.

In the end, Ames proved to be a bitter disappointment to both the political Catholic elite, who found him atrociously liberal and insufficiently pious, and the peasant-labor left, who resented his patrician roots and felt that he did not go far enough with his reforms, particularly land reform. Foreign perceptions were no more flattering; on a state visit to Houston-on-the-Brazos in May 1951, French Prime Minister Jeanneret derisively referred to Ames as a “sycophantic little gargoyle”. The officer corps quickly grew tired of their former hero’s chameleon antics, and talk of a coup was in the air as early as 1952. With no single faction detesting him enough to overthrow him, Ames clung to power for another two years before the pot boiled over.

The Texan coup d’état of 1954 was relatively bloodless, and Ames was placed under house arrest. Four hours later, Andrew Norwood Mackie was unanimously elected President by the State Council for Constitutional Reconstruction in the dining hall of the Presidential Palace.

Suicide? Did Buddy Dwyer come into RFK's body?

This is why I really should do footnotesx'D Basically the idea is that RFK gets entangled in the criminal activity going on within the Hoffa Administration, can't cope with the guilt and becomes an alcoholic/drug addict, alienates himself from his family, and ultimately shoots himself in the head (which is what causes President Hoffa's near-impeachment, and disappearance).

That would be worst case scenario.

As much as the Second Great American War is important, this Cuban box is so insane I just wanna share it.
Note: These are all fictional people, due to the obvious struggle in finding Cuban politicians.
---------------------------------------------------
The 2017 Cuban General Election was called in November of 2016, by governor Terico Montanez after several pressing issues, such as the growing fear of war and many other pressing issues facing Cuba, such as Independence. The election was expected to be another dominant performance from Cuba's Left Coalition. The Left Coalition contains the Center-Left Labor, the left-wing and Hispanic-Rights enlarging Revolucion Hispana, the Socialist Partido Ortodoxo, and third way Partido Auténtico parties. The Left Coalition has had massive amounts of power in Cuba since the 1960s, when Conservative Prime Minister Strom Thurmond shut off government funding to the island, and the Conservatives in Cuba died with that. As of right now, the Conservatives hold two seats on a national level from Cuba, but that's mainly only because Rafael Cruz is a maverick and Marco Rubio is extremely popular due to his football career. However, the Conservatives in the Cuban Parliament are made out of entirely statewide parties (minus the Conservatives) the Right-Wing of Cuba has the Freedom and Safety Coalition. The Coalition is made out of the Christian Democratic Christian Democrats, the Centrist Cuban Alliance, the Christian Conservative Cuban Values, and the center-Right Conservatives. Finally there is the Liberty Coalition. The Liberty Coalition was formed by the Black Power and Cuban Independence Parties because they thought the Left Coalition wasn't doing enough to support the party's token issues. There is also one Independent Party, the Liberal Party which is a centrist party with Center-Left and Center-Right factions. However, following the 2017 elections, a new one would emerge.

The Cuban elections featured the Left Coalitions biggest members, the Labor and Revolucion Hispana Parties lost seats. Both Parties had lead the state since the 1990s, and voter fatigue was finally setting in. One of the most notable reasons why the Left Coalition was losing seats was due to the Black Power Party's growth. While the BPP had held few seats before 2015, the growing incidents of police brutality in Cuba, the government's inability to send those police officers to prison, and the government beginning to cut some of its affirmative action programs for Afro-Cubans, despite Afro-Cubans having the lowest employment rate by population in Cuba lead to them jumping in seats. The rise in Afro-Cuban voters voting for the BPP has hurt the Left Coalition, because the Afro-Cuban vote used to be reliably towards the Left Coalition. The BPP has gotten so popular, they even managed to win a plurality in Guantanamo.

While the growth of the Black Power Party was important, the creation of the
Liberty and Justice for Paul party also shook most Cuban political followers expectations. Paul Cruz was an immensely popular member of the Alliance Party. However, following the Alliance's choice of Kate Cortez as their leader, he created a split-off centrist party and it somehow managed to win four seats that weren't his, showing Centrist Cuban outrage at the choice of Cortez.

Even with all the vote splitting the Left Coalition kept their majority, mainly due to the Cuban Alliance losing seats due to splitting and Partido Ortodoxo winning one. The final results showed Cuba's political system strong, but in the next election, it is difficult to predict who will win, with such political insanity in 2017. Only time will tell who is the winner.

Aww damn it! You beat me to it! I was gonna make a Cuban election map or something. Although this is really good though, maybe shouldn't have all 12 parties in that format of wikipedia infobox and instead use the one for proportional representation where there is usually up to 20 parties, for an example look at the dutch election wikipedia infoboxes for that format, they are usually without the picture of the party leader, so they can be lined up without taking up as much space.

Yeah, I had to go and use a different box for the bottom 3, so thanks for the advice!

InfernoMole: Bogdan Dimitrov
"Bogdan Dimitrov, born on April 11 of 2079, is one of the most influential figures in modern art. The sole child of two Orbital workers, Lara Chernenko and Stoyan Dimitrov, Bogdan Dimitrov has single-handedly created an entire new style, a whole new movement of art, directly tied to the unforgiving expanse of space and the issues Orbitals face while living on space stations. Dimitrov's work is characterized by heavy neo-chiaroscuro, combined with a refusal to use 'warm' or 'cold' color schemes, instead utilizing a 'light' or 'dark' color scheme, giving life to cold, empty chambers of space stations, cosmic objects or 'inner demons'..."
~ Excerpt from New Zealandian documentary Art Beyond Earth – Bogdan Dimitrov and the Movement of Orbitalism, dated July 2145

"This man [Dimitrov] is amazing. The bust [of Ramzan Kadyrov] that I commissioned, it's very accurate, distinctly classical in its depiction, incredibly Roman, incredibly monumental, but it has a tinge of modernity that makes it distinctly... you know, Dimitrov's."
~ Zurab Kadyrov, Governor of Chechnya, about the Bust of a Father, 12 September 2132

"Y'now, he was always a rather... detached man. Painfully so. I guess that's what surviving a dozen explosions, gas leaks and shots to the head does to a man. But, unlike most people I knew, Bogdan was pretty durable. Always came out on top, or so."
~ Leonid Sudakov about Bogdan Dimitrov, November 2143

"Bogdan Dimitrov was not just a man! He was the scion of the space stations that contained us, the father of Orbital independence! And those who killed him - the rotten corporate businessmen of the Three Worlds will pay for this injustice!"
~ Excerpt from Guust Sartorij's speech during the Axion Protests, 17 July 2148

magicmikey: Henry Cabot Lodge Jr.
Dwight Eisenhower replaces Nixon with Henry Cabot Lodge as his running mate in 1956. Lodge goes on to win the GOP's nomination in 1960 and wins a comeback victory against Senator John Kennedy in the general election.

SoldierOfChrist: Directorate of the Panoply of the State
By the last decades of the 20th century, OGAS had assumed most major functions of the state economy in the various Union Republics. But the Glushkovites planned to go further still. From its inception, OGAS was envisioned as an all-encompassing utility in society, and breakthrough advances in the field of cybernetics and predictive modeling allowed the Politburo to fully explore its military and security applications. Collaborating with the Chinese State Planning Commission and their South American counterparts at Synco, the great minds of the Soviet Union constructed through socialist diligence and science the most advanced surveillance state in human history. What happened next seems inevitable now with the benefit of hindsight, but few could have predicted it at the time.
