An idea I had for a Parliamentary US, might expand on it later:

Once, the Commonwealth Party was Louisiana politics. An angry coalition of poor rural whites and African-Americans forged into a lasting legacy by the late, great Pierce Tison, the de-facto king of the State for much of the mid-20th century, they dominated the legislature, statewide offices and the congressional delegation from 1938 to 1982. It would take the death of Governor Tison himself, who died in office in 1977 after a total of 30 non-consecutive years in the Governor's Mansion, for the previous moribund National Party to finally regain some form of importance after the 1982 state election. Dismantling much of the old Commonwealth machines and restructuring the executive (leaving Louisiana one of just three states in the Union to vest all executive power in the legislature), the short lived National regime would bring about the beginning of the end for Commonwealth. In the decades that have passed the party have seen much of its previously invincible coalition bleed away, with one half flocking to the recently arrived People's Party and the other succumbing to low turn-out and apathy. Today, Commonwealth have effectively been relegated to the position of third wheel in state politics, surviving only as a meaningful force in Creole Country and in the northern reaches of the state.

The 2016 was one of the biggest electoral upsets in American Presidential history with Governor Sanders narrowly not receiving enough electoral votes to win outright, and no party having a majority of the House of Representatives delegations, leaving Vice President Cuomo (Son of former President Cuomo) as the President.

Popular Liberal Republican Governor of New York Sanders was the first Jewish Presidential Candidate, and Senator Clooney of California was the first Female Vice Presidential candidate to receive a majority of the Electoral votes. (The first Vice Presidential candidate being Jeanne Kirkpatrick of the Conservative Party in 1984.)

President King of Alabama was not expected to win reelection, with and economic downturn, allegations of corruption, and a popular third party candidate all acting to discredit the incumbent.

Ramón Estevez is a famous author, and left-wing activist who ran on a platform of electoral reform, fighting police brutality, and social progressivism whose third party candidacy split off many of the Democrat's left wing supporters.

I always felt it was pretty lame how they didn't replace the Twin Towers with another Twin Towers. The Frwedom Tower looks great and all but come on, it being two towers was why the World Trade Center was so distinctive.
My dad always said they should build one really tall tower surrounded by towers decreasing in height so it looks like a middle finger.

They have plans for another. They just haven't broke ground yet I think

Through A Mirror, Darkly

The Seventy-seventh Army Group is a unique combat force within the United States Armed Forces. The Seventy-seventh is descended from a late 28th century government project to create super-soldiers. The project--a joint government and private venture--ran into plenty of issues, and eventually determined that the changes to the human genome could only be supported by double X genomes, requiring female genetic hosts. Fetuses had high failure rates in gestation, while the advanced combat powered armor was expensive to manufacture. This has severely limited the number of Valkyrie super-soldiers that can be created. Less than 5,000 have successfully served in the past 30+ years, and there are currently around 1,500 on active duty arranged into thirteen companies. Each company is supported by a division of specially recruited and trained armored infantry nicknamed Shieldmaidens. Shieldmaiden divisions are equipped with infantry fighting vehicles and heavy armored personnel carriers, and reinforced by an organic armored brigade and combat aviation brigade. Some are cross-trained as airborne infantry.

The Seventy-seventh Army Group is nominally an Army command, and is directly under the control of the Joint Special Operations Command. In addition to an organic armored corps, the 77th Air Force is directly subordinate to the Seventy-seventh to provide close-air support for ground forces, as is the Space Force's 881st Special Operations Group, which provides assault transports for rapid deployment anywhere in the Olympic Cluster and orbital fire support as needed and where legal. U.S. Navy assets are placed under the control of the Seventy-seventh's 77th Fleet on an ad hoc as needed basis. The Seventy-seventh primarily serves as a rapid reaction force, able to respond to hot spots and troubled areas in a matter of weeks. The divisions rarely operate together, and there are generally no more than four or five divisions active at one time. The Seventy-seventh is garrisoned on the moon of Glasir orbiting Aegis, within the tented valleys on the moon.

The Seventy-seventh has attained a degree of notoriety in the public mind. The Valkyries themselves are considered war heroes merely by association. Shieldmaidens are highly decorated and widely respected as combat soldiers. However, their size remains a fairly significant limiting factor for their efficacy. Because of that, they can rarely swing entire battles on their own, let alone wars. However, their ability to operate quickly is what makes them effective as their presence alone can stop small conflicts from becoming major wars. When available, they're used as the spearheads for major military operations. The current commander is General of the Army Siegda Johnson, who is frequently referred to as Siegda the Silent in popular media. She also serves as the territorial governor of Glasir.

The Silver Koala, Soft Ear Bilby and Dog Wombat, are domesticated Australian marsupials that resulted from along term conservation program begun by the Australian Government in the early 1970's.

The original intention of the program was to protect potentially endangered species through controlled breeding; the idea of domesticating these animals came later. The concept was that pet breed from native animals would be less harmful to the environment than introduced species such as cats and dogs; as well, the sale of these animals could be used to further conservation projects in the face of ever present cut backs.

Silver Koalas were bred with size and temperament in mind: full grown adults tend to be smaller than wild types, allowing them to easily be held and carried. The Koalas more aggressive nature was selected against, with Silver Koalas bred for a placid and social nature. Silver Koalas are seen closest as a cat analog: capable of living both indoors and outdoors, thriving in social situations like cuddling up with their owners on a couch or playfully gripping to their backs.

The Soft Ear Bilby is seen as a pet rabbit analog: their timid yet curious nature saw them advertised a good pets for children. Unlike wild Bilbys, Soft Ear Bilbys do not dig burrows; they also lack the nocturnal nature of their wild cousins.

The Dog Wombat is a smaller cousin of the Hairy Nose-Wombat: it is seen as an analog of a small dog, hence the name Dog Wombat. Dog Wombats were bred with human interaction in mind: they are more physically active and playful than their wild cousins. Unfortunately, some of their more aggressive traits have also bred through, and it is recommended that dog wombats not be taken into families with small children.

While such domestication projects have proven controversial with modern environmentalists, they have been regarded as a complete success by the government. Domesticated marsupials have proven very popular pets both in Australian and abroad: The Silver Koala is extremely popular in Japan, where it has topped pet shop sales for nearly a decade, with numbers jumping massively after the Australian Government gifted several Silver Koalas to the Japanese Imperial Family. All three have also proven popular in the United states, although issues of pet abandonment have cause unforeseen issues: wild silver koalas have become prevalent in the eucalyptus trees of California, while abandoned dog Wombats have become an issue for farmers and conservationists alike, as their larger size compared to other burrowing mammals have made them more resistant to predators and pest control.

Fair point. I suppose what I mean is that there should be something said about it, not just... a wikibox, standing by its lonesome.
That's true. @Gryphon articulated it better at some point, I think, that a clever write-up can enhance an otherwise average or unremarkable wikibox (as it should, since fundamentally they're a device for summarizing more complex content visually), and that especially a write-up that completely alters the first-level interpretation of what you're seeing can take things to a much higher level.

Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but consider this without context, and then with.

The LIM-99 Sprint missile was created to function as the 'close-in' component of the US anti-ballistic missile defense network. As the relative weight of Soviet nuclear missiles decreased, the capacity to include a large number of radar decoys, debris, and independent re-entry vehicles increased substantially, and existing defensive systems would be easily overwhelmed. An exercise conducted with the Nike system concluded that as few as three of the newer type of Soviet missiles could overwhelm a typical launch site. To counter-act this, the Sprint was conceived as a missile that could engage targets after atmospheric re-entry, when unhardened components and debris would have been deflected, burned up, or otherwise left the target zone around the incoming warhead. The longer range LIM-49 Spartan, alongside which it was deployed, was used for exo-atmospheric engagements.

As a last line of defense, the Sprint was built to achieve incredibly rapid engagement speeds. The window for an effective launch that would result in effective interception was calculated to be as narrow as 1 to 2 seconds, and so the missiles were deployed over wide areas and controlled by highly sophisticated computer systems that handled the entire process of acquisition, launch, and detonation. When the system determined a target was within the engagement zone, the cap to the individual missile silo was blown off by an explosive charge, and the missile itself lofted by a second explosion-drive piston. The two-stage engine accelerated the missile rapidly to ten times the speed of sound, and was capable of reaching its maximum range of 30,000m in as little as 15 seconds. The incredibly high atmospheric speeds, and resulting high temperatures generated, necessitated the use of ablative heat shielding on the nose of the missile, similar to that used on vehicles undergoing atmospheric re-entry. Upon reaching the target, the command system would detonate the 10 kiloton W66 nuclear warhead, which was specially constructed to disable the incoming warhead by neutron flux.

The system was incredibly expensive to research and deploy, taking up a significant percentage of overall US defense budgets during the 1970s, and a number of Congressional investigations and proposed arms control treaties with the Soviet Union threatened to cancel it completely. Indeed, production was halted in 1983 with only 80% of the anticipated construction run completed. However, after the depletion of existing stocks in 1986, President Haig prevailed upon Congress to fund the construction of a second generation of Sprint missiles. These missiles continued in service, despite the vastly diminished threat of nuclear attack on the United States in the wake of that conflict, until being withdrawn and replaced by the LIM-144 Sprint II missiles in the late 1990s.

Also, Jesus, @Archangel Michael this is just going to keep getting worse, isn't it?
