Political parties in the USA aren't allowed to use the word "American" in their name.

Yes, that's the thing upon which I chose to focus. :p
I assume you mean newly founded ones, because the American Independent Party and Independent American Party (which is the same remnant of George Wallace's organisation under different names in different states) do still exist.

There was also a state level candidate somewhere on the east coast who ran as America First in 2012 (yes, really).

The result if an election is held before the end of the year.

Corbyn wins the Labour Leadership contest defeating Owen Smith 73.5% to 26.5%. With Corbyn proving unelectable by the public, Labour MP's threaten a split before the end of the year. PM Theresa May calls a snap election for the 3rd of November for a mandate to invoke Article 50 by 2018. Come November 3, the Tories won a landslide majority of 112 seats leaving Labour at it's worst result since 1935 with 170 seats - lower than Michael Foot in 1983. The SNP retained all 56 seats they won in last May's election with the Lib Dems making a gain of 9 seats but still the 4th largest party in the Commons.

I'm sorry Corbyn supporters, this is what will likely happen if an election is held in Q4 2016 or Q1 2017.

I suddenly feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

If anyone's wondering why they're getting a bunch of likes from me all of a sudden, in a fit of boredom I decided to go back to Thread II and comb through it, liking all the boxes I enjoy. The annoyance will end eventually.

I'm only about a 1/5th through the second thread, but man I forgot how much great stuff there was there: @Archangel Michael 's AJND stuff, Mike's non-AJND stuff, @Georgepatton 's Grand Thaurmalgist(sp?) and Give Me Liberty stuff, the Canadian gubernatorial stuff by @RogueBeaver and @TPL99 and @Upton_Sinclair and friends, various things by @CanadianTory and @True Grit and @lord caedus and @Turquoise Blue , and probably way more people I'm forgetting.

The case of Wilkinson v. Louisiana is probably the most notable case of its Supreme Court term. The defendant, Tom Wilkinson, fell afoul of Louisiana's laws against speech critical of the government in his film Twenty Hours in Plaquemines, and sued the state for the infringement of his First Amendment rights. While early reports considered the case open and shut, with widespread surprise in some circles when the Supreme Court decided to hear it, the arguments made swung the estimated decision far enough that it was now in doubt which side would win. Meanwhile, Wilkinson and his film became a cause célèbre - his appearance at a rally at Tulane University drew a crowd of over 24,000 people, his film was the most downloaded from GFE for five consecutive weeks, and world leaders such as Premier Wei Jingsheng roundly condemned his prosecution.
In the end, the decision was an anticlimax - not the 7-0 blowout many had expected, but neither was it a victory for Wilkinson. The decision was widely condemned among more liberal and Unionist circles, with many calling for a Constitutional Amendment to extend the First Amendment, or maybe even the first eight, to the states. However, those condemning could rejoice in the fact that the law under which Wilkinson was sentenced, HB 1313, was repealed in one of the first legislative sessions after the case.
(Many thanks to @Archangel Michael for looking over this and advising me on it.)

Looking at the previous threads, someone did a President Billy Mays. However, in that infobox, Mays is a socialist. However, in OTL, Mays was a Republican. So then I thought of President Mays. But for President Mays, you need Mays to hold office somewhere, so that's what I did

Based on how many Congressional districts each candidate won in the primaries. Several states had no CD data, so I had to estimate for them. I gave North Dakota and Colorado to Cruz.

So while I'm still working on new material for Hail, Britannia, I've been discussing with @Turquoise Blue about how convergent some of my earlier work was, and so we've been collaborating on some revamping of earlier posts, the results of which will be posted over the coming weeks.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that if anyone has anything they'd like to contribute to the Hail, Britannia universe then please drop me a PM :).

One thing I've been unhappy about was my original post about California as it didn't really reflect how I imagined the country to be. So here we go, a belated 1 year anniversary present for the series:

----

The Kingdom of the Californias, also known as the Californias or simpliy California, is a sovereign state located on the western coast of North America, bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the United Kingdom (specifically Oregon and Missouri) to the north and northeast, the Republic of Texas to the east, and shares a maritime boundary with the Mexican Empire in the Gulf of Cortez. Historically part of the Spanish Viceroyalty of New Spain, and later the First Mexican Empire (1821-1833), the province of Las Californias declared itself a free and sovereign state after the deposition of Emperor Agustín I, gaining de facto autonomy within the Centralist Republic of Mexico (1833-1848). During this time the province, under the rule of a series of military governors, saw a population boom as monarchist Mexicans fled the increasingly dictatorial regime and European settlers arrived in the region.

At the beginning of the Mexican War, California declared independence under President Andrés Pico and fought with British and Texan forces against Mexico. The subsequent collapse of the Centralist Republic and the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 recognised the independence of both California and Texas. Despite calls for the territory to be annexed into Britain-in-America, opposition within the American Colonial Congress prevented this, although the terms of the Treaty established both countries as British protectorates. In 1847 President Pico invited Ramón de Iturbide, the second youngest son of Emperor Agustín I who had travelled to California in 1846 from exile in Pennsylvania and fought during the war, to take the throne, which he did as King Ramón I of the Californias. Between 1847 and 1879, California was governed as an absolute monarchy and miltary junta with the constitution granting executive powers to the Monarch and an appointed "President of the Government" (Prime Minister), who was always a member of the military chosen by the King. The Cortes Generales, California's legislative branch, was a largely symbolic institution for the first 32 years of the country's existence before democratic reforms led by Ramón II and Prime Minister John C. Frémont, 1st Duke of Mariposa, gave rise to 1879 Constitution and the transition to a democratic parliamentary constitutional monarchy.

During the First World War (1913-1918), parts of California were invaded and occupied by Mexican and German forces, reaching as for north as Los Angeles. The defeat of the Central Powers led to the annexation of the Baja Peninsula, which had been claimed by the Californians since independence, as the country's second autonomous region instead of seeking heavier reparations. Throughout the course of the 20th century California emerged as a major world power, joining the Allies in the Second World War, primarily focused on the East Asian Theatre. In the 21st century, California is a thriving mulit-cultural liberal democracy with a strong economy and prominent place on the world stage as a key player in multi-polar international politics, and is considered a potential great power. The country boosts a diverse population, known as Californians or Californios, which is predominantly made up of Mestizos (mixed descent from Latin Americans, Amerindian and Europeans) with a substantial population of recent European immigrants, though the country is also home to the largest number of Asian peoples in the New World as well as a significant population of African descent. It is also a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and an observer at the Union of Latin American Nations.

The 2013 Californian general election was held 12 October 2013 to elect by proportional representation the 565 members of the Chamber of Delegates. The incumbent centre-left Avanzando Juntos ("Forward Together") coalition government, led by Prime Minister Antonio Villaraigosa was defeated by the opposition centre-right Alianza para California ("Alliance for California") coalition, led by Jon Huntsman. Disatisfaction with the government's economic recovery policy and decision to persue closer ties with Latin America at the expense of the Commonwealth were key issues in the campaign, as was the decision to postpone a referendum on autonomy in the Nevada region after the 2012 Las Vegas riots.

King Ramón IV is the seventh, and current, King of the Californias, having ascended to the throne at the age of 22 upon the death of his grandfather in 2002, his parents having been killed in a car crash in Madrid three years previously. Ramón IV is a great-great-great-great grandson of King Ramón I and is related to the monarchs of Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Bavaria, Peru, and Argentina, as well as the British Royal Family and the Dukes of Manhattan through his great-grandmother Lady Alexandra Taylor-Brock. Ramón IV is married to Oregon-born Juliana Dickens, the pair having met whilst studying at the University of Oregon Vancouver, and with whom he has three children.

Wasatch is an autonomous region of California which is located in the east of the country stretching down the Wasatch Mountain Range from the Oregon/Missouri border to the Colorado River in the south where it borders the Texan states of Navajo and Arizuma. A majority Anglophone region, although Spanish is widely spoken as a second language, Wasatch is the only national subdivision in the world where Mormons make up a majority of the population and traces its origins to the State of Deseret which existed in the region between 1849 and 1858 when it was peacefully annexed by California. Wasatch gained it status as an autonomous region in 1896 and is politically dominated by the Wasatch People's Party, a centre-right conservative Mormon party, and socially by the Church of Latter Day Saints. Despite some calls for independence, polls consistenly show a majority in favour of continued autonomy, although support for independence has gradually risen.

Jon Huntsman Jr. is the 24th, and current, Prime Minister of the Californias having been elected to a majority government at the 2013 election, and is notable for being one of the few anglophones (and the only Mormon) to have been elected to the position. Huntsman is the leader of the Partido Nacional Liberal (National Liberal Party) and had previously served as the leader of the party in the Wastach Congress, and as the Lieutenant Governor between 2005 and 2009 when he sought election to the Chamber of Delegates. Despite the party's losses at the 2009 election, Huntsman was high enough on the list to secure a seat and went on to challenge incumbent leader, Eugenio Elorduy Walther, for the party presidency which he won in October 2012, becoming Leader of Opposition. A fierce critic of the government during his time in opposition, Huntsman, who is considered to be in the moderate wing of his party, was elected on a campaign of improved economic growth through investment and stronger ties with the Commonwealth. So far he has delivered and polls predict his government to be re-elected at the 2017 election.
