Not sure they quite qualify as infoboxes but cross-posting a couple of election tables from my timeline.

That's new, though you could have just done something like this.

I would have preferred to have done them as proper wikipedia boxes but I always find them quite tricky and I had limited time. Perhaps I will remake them in the future but I am missing quite an important degree of information as I am struggling to work out the actual size of the electorate. If anyone does happen to know how many female relations, aged over 19, with male relations serving in World War 1 there were in 1918 I would be immensely grateful!

What ares the platforms of the Progressive Party and the Liberal Alliance?

A half hour did not allow me the time to draw up their platforms, but I'd imagine it would be something similar to the NDP and Liberals. This thing is based on a list I did in the PMS or Presidents thread.

guys is it a scumbag move to simply take other wikiboxes on wikipedia take them and edit them for your means? Because I do that and I feel as if I'm cheating the wikibox gods

That's what everyone does, I think?

I mean, if I want to make a Canadian political party, I'm going to start by copy/pasting the Liberals wikibox into my sandbox. I'll add detail, sure, but it saves a lot of time to start with a template.

What do you mean?

EDIT: Like copying and pasting a similar box and editing it to fit your needs? That's what you're supposed to do, I certainly wouldn't make any of these if I had to build one completely from scratch.

What do you mean?

I don't know for some reason I have a feeling everyone does everything from scratch when as the posts above me show thats clearly wrong and that I'm not putting enough effort into my wikiboxes

It's the practice people on Wikipedia do as well.

ok thanks for reassuring me

thats what I usually do but again I had assumed some people did things different and I was being lazy taking shortcuts

My attempt at a wikibox, but I have not yet figured out how to seperate the infobox from the rest of the Wikipedia article

My attempt at a wikibox, but I have not yet figured out how to seperate the infobox from the rest of the Wikipedia article

Copy the code for the infobox (for this one, it starts out "{{Infobox election" then "|election_name=New Zealand general election, 1981" etc.) and move it to either your user sandbox or the sandbox page. You can hit "show preview" to see what it looks like (don't hit "save" outside of your own sandbox page- your infobox will get deleted when other users save their edits in the sandbox). When you're done, screen-shot the infobox and paste it together in MSPaint or a similar program.
