This is a massive (not really massive) reference to my TLIAW I just finished A Rigged Deck, for a Rigged System. While Alaska and Canada were briefly touched on by the end, I figured I'd expand this here in an obtuse way. Enjoy.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk of the Russian Empire:

Basically this is an ASB scenario I was thinking of, where Russia somehow avoids the Revolution but gradually becomes a democracy, while Alaska remains Russian and all of Russia's territories remain (I was thinking that Russia could've won the Crimea War and Alexander II wasn't assassinated and was a more successful reformer), while what is now OTL Poland also becomes Russian, as well as Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Kaliningrad Oblast (which is no longer German) and Mongolia. It's really not at all a plausible scenario, though I decided to do it because wanks are always fun. You guys can build upon this universe if you'd like, though be aware that Russia is mostly developed, federal, democratic and the main two political parties are social democrats and European-style Conservatives (the Russian Conservative Party, which Tusk is a member of), as those are incredibly important parts of the universe I created here. Also note that the Emperor, Ivan VII is a fictional character.

Nice description there!

For the Democrats, they actually got 135 electoral votes with 11 states carried, while the Liberals ended up with 82 electoral votes with 9 states carried.

Shortly after the 2020 election President Castro got to work on admitting Israel to the Union in order to spite Hussein.
He then left the running of the country to Kucinich and spent most of his time telling stories and regaling the press.
An attempt on his life was made while he was attending a baseball game involving an explosive baseball.
This popular presidential arrangement would soon be challenged by former Prime Minister Netanyahu who would go on to get 197 electoral votes as a result of lower than average voter turnout, vote rigging and the new and improved US Public Health system.

One does wonder how Saddam and Netanyahu ended up in the same party...:D

As to where the other 19.5% of votes went to....

The Libertarian Party - Which nominated Ron Paul who reckons Iraq has the right to secede if it doesn't want to be in a union with Israel.
The Green Party - Which seeks to admit several European nations to the Union in addition to environmental politics.
The Consitution Party - Which seek a return to 50 states and a nicer flag design.
The British Reunion Party - Which seeks to admit Britain to the Union and make Tony Blair eligible for the presidency.
The Socialism & Liberation Party - Which seeks to bring Socialism to the US and the to world by admitting all of it to the Union.
And
The No More States Please Party - Which nominated the only Native American candidate Markwayne Mullin.

I think admitting Canada, Mexico and the UK to the USA should return some sense into the system! :D

It would be Senate Majority leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who would have the last laugh when Iran was admitted as the 54th state. Former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying "we thought it was crazy at first, but now Iran has access to the greatest stockpile of nuclear weapons ever assembled!". Despite talk of replacing the new presidential qualifications with a clean shaven tax, the Iranian annexation agreement went ahead with the stipulation that all future Presidential candidates be bearded Muslim men.

How much of America by now has embraced the Islamic Faith? Likewise it seems that those in politics would all be embracing it! :D

The Democrats easily nominated former House Speaker Muammar Gaddafi, who promptly changed his home state to Massachusetts upon learning that Libya had not yet been admitted to the union.

What was his planned policies?

With the candidate pool significantly narrowed, the Republicans convinced their only reliable option to change his name, convert to Islam, and sprout a beard. "It's really itchy" remarked the new president, to the thunderous applause of those gathered to celebrate his third term in office.

You know, if the GOP was that desperate they might as well had Prince Bandar as their candiate! :D

New parties contesting this election include...

The Proportional Party - which seeks to reform congressional representation, believing the current system underrepresents states like Iran, which has over 30 million eligible voters but only two senators.
The Ameroskeptic Party - which works against the imminent accession of the United Kingdom to the United States, is typically opposed to Tony Blair's presidential ambitions.
The Florida First Party - which seeks to detach Florida from the mainland and replace Cuba as the premiere Caribbean vacation destination.
The Kenya Party - which seeks to admit Kenya to the union and put that whole birth certificate thing to rest once and for all.
The North American is Best America Party - which seeks to have North Korea admitted to the union and Kim-Jong Un installed as eternal President, sadly the current congress refuses to give him anymore than "Strom Thurmond privileges" which would make him eternal Senator from South Carolina.
The STOP IT STOP ADMITTING STATES Party - which splintered off from the militant wing of the No More States Please Party.

Kim-Jong Un as Eternal President? How well is America doing right now?

With the addition of Iraq, Iran, Israel, and Cuba, here's how the House seats would be apportioned using the Huntington-Hill method (add two to each for EVs):

Well, one can at least say you cannot win elections without Iran and Iraq on your side!

Is Palestine included in this USA?

Anyway, here's Nebraska. A long-time Conservative stronghold, Nebraska has been wracked by weak governments and hung legislatures since 2004 when the far-right Cornhusker Party split from the Conservatives. There's been 6 elections since 2004 (including the 2014 election), and there has been very little movement on any side in any of them. The Conservatives tend to hold a minority government for a year or so before it collapses and they call for a new election, hoping for the best. The centre-left Progressives are mostly found in Omaha and in Lincoln, while the far-left People's Alternative is essentially the Ernie Chambers Party. There's a great deal of animosity between the Conservatives and the Cornhuskers, and voter fatigue has begun to set in as voter turnout has spiraled down and down with each new election. Mike Flood remained as Governor in a minority government, while Charlie Janssen remained Leader of the Opposition. Progressive Leader Mike Fahey stepped down as party leader after 12 years at the helm.

I'm a little confused about the way this system actually works. Where do Buchanan's bonus 35 and Webster's bonus 33 electoral votes (as it is shown in the infobox) come from?

That's my fault. I forgot to change them.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Empire Matti Vanhanen (same universe as the Donald Tusk inbox. Again, feel free to add to the universe):

I'm guessing Finland is still a part of Russia?

It's basically OTL Nebrsska with its Republican denomination and intra party spats.

And Ernie Chambers.
Reminds me of Alberta pre-2015. You have a main conservative party (PCs/Conservatives), a rightier challenger (Wildrose/Cornhusker), a soft-left party (Liberal/Progressive) and a left-wing one (NDP/People's Alternative).

Of course we won't get a People's Alternative majority in 2015. :p

Since I recently finished watching all of the Star Trek movies and TV shows (except Enterprise because sitting through Voyager was hard enough at times), I figured I'd post these infoboxes I've made of Captains Kirk, Sisko, Janeway & Picard.

The infoboxes are from an "main universe" standpoint of 2379 (AKA after the events of Nemesis) and there's only a little bit of dipping into non-canon works or creative liberties (mostly just getting things like Sisko's and Janeway's exact dates of birth, which in Janeway's case would also provide a date when she graduated the Academy and was commissioned into Starfleet).

Following his slim victory in September 2014, Conservative Governor Mike Flood realized that the state needed some stability. Due to his personal animosity with Charlie Janssen, he offered a confidence and supply agreement with the Progressives--which were being lead on an interim basis by veteran legislator Chris Butler until a new leader could be elected. With a bit of quid pro quo. The most controversial of which was a repeal of the death penalty, a long-standing Progressive Party plank. This attempt blew up in Flood's face spectacularly, as seven MLAs walked out out of his party. Likewise, seven MLAs left the Cornhusker Party due to what they perceived as the party leadership's unnecessary attempts at obstructionism. The fourteen MLAs joined together to form the Nebraska Party, the largest party in the Legislative Assembly. Mike Flood remained on Governor and he called a new election, hoping to catch the nasceant Nebraska Party off guard.

The new election in April 2015 proved to be a disaster for everyone. Turnout was abysmally low as conservatives and right-wingers all decided to stay home. New Progressive leader Amanda McGill had her base fired up. The three right-wing parties attacked each other ferociously, giving the Progressives an extraordinarily rare opportunity. Seizing, the Progressives not only managed to become the largest party in the Legislative Assembly, but also attained a majority. The leaders of the three right-wing parties all lost due to spectacular and vicious vote splitting. At the age of 35, Amanda McGill become the youngest Governor in Nebraska history.
