alternate version of panzerfuhrer pre tl discussion/brainstorming

I had one thread already discussing a version where Guderian would smash the plotters after a successful killing of Hiter.

I am considering a different version... background:

Between Stalingrad and July 20th in OTL was Hitler's low point, he lost nearly all of his confidence and was actually soliciting and listening to his generals (note he didn't always listen to the right ones, especially at Kursk, BUT he did listen to the correct people about Italy and was being semi objective)

On July 1st 1944 Hitler fired Hanz Zeitzler the army chief of staff who hand been trying to resign since Manstein and Kleist got fired in the spring (Manstein suggesting he should be given control of the eastern front stoked Hitler's ingrained paranoia and he began the process of becoming impossible to work with that would uber escalate after July 20)

Hitler between July 1 and July 20 was trying to figure out who the next army chief of staff would be... in otl it became guderian (probably as a back handed reward for his part in not allowing the panzer troops to attach themselves to the home army and his reliable nazism).... however, the July 20 attack made Hitler impossible to work with and hyper paranoid and untrusting; even with his closest generals like Model and Guderian

So what I propose in the ATL:

The Stauffenberg plot was fairly well known within much of the army circle. Someone somewhere leaks the plot to Guderian between July 1 and July 20

Guderian then goes to Hitler with some level of proof and demands that he be allowed to use the panzer trainees to roll up the plotters (saying the SS is also compromised)

Hitler conceeds and allows Guderian to destroy the plotters by siccing the panzer troopers on them; Beck et all are rounded up, lined up against a wall and killed

Hitler is immensely grateful to Guderian and names him chief of staff and promises to take his advice above board and gives him a relatively free hand

Why would Hitler need to send panzers after the Valkyrie gang?

The coup hasn't been launched, so they won't have soldiers at their disposal. Tanks would be overkill. Just have the plotters arrested individually by the Gestapo.

I like the first version better because it isn't OTL's crushing of the plotters before they can accomplish anything and yet it isn't a utopic "Iron Curtan much further east" Germanophile TL either.

Well Hitler would ofcourse be gratefull and perhaps listen more to Guederian...but will it change the course of the war at this late state? The situation is critical at all fronts, and even with a genius like Guederian in command, he will have to work miracles to achieve a settlement, which does not include total surrender for Germany.....Perhaps move the POD 2 years earlier....or even better prior to Barbarossa.
