Alternate Terms for "Mexican Standoff"

hey, all. it occurred to me recently that, since Mexico is replaced by a revived Aztec Empire in my ASB ATL, i'll need to change the term "Mexican standoff" to reflect this. i don't want to just call it an "Aztec standoff" because 1) the Aztec Empire is much more stable than Mexico and thus wouldn't have a reputation for danger, and 2) that name just sounds stupid

one that i can't help but keep coming back to is instead calling this kind of event a "Brisbane standoff" with the term as popularized originating in Australia, though i'd also like to explore other terms (probably completely different from the OTL term but meaning the same thing) for other regions before "Brisbane standoff" comes into wider use. for example, the default term in the United States could be based on some military event which was fundamentally similar to a Mexican standoff (e.g., three different groups are all in the same place and perfectly capable of taking down the others, but that would leave them weak to take down the second, so it just turns into a stalemate

thoughts? suggestions?

I like the idea of it having an Australian etymology. Brisbane sounds good, but only if you pronounce it like an Australian. Americans might not get the hang of it if it's something they read first, rather than hear a lot.

What's wrong with Mexican standoff still? In an ATL where the Aztec Empire survives, the term 'Aztec' will likely be more of an obscure historical reference than a common demonym, like Vedic or Bantu or something like that. The people of the Aztec Empire might still be known most commonly as Mexicans after the name of the primary nation of the Triple Alliance, the Mexica.

i've explained a few times before that "Aztec" is a misnomer ITTL which came to be considered correct by the Aztecs themselves: they and most other peoples fully acknowledge that the majority of Aztec citizens are not actually Aztecs (most people in the country are mestizos, and far fewer are actually descended from the historical Aztecs) but it's considered correct in the same way that American Indian is considered correct.

also Rule of Cool :D

Perhaps have a famous/legendary standoff involving one or two famous gunfighters. The "Mexican Standoff" then translates into the "MacReady-Childs Stance" or the "MacReady-Childs Deal" (just two random names), or something of that nature.
