Alternate Supreme Courts

I figured it might be interesting to come up with alternative Supreme Courts.

Here is one that assumes George H.W. Bush decided not to go with David Souter - and how it looks in 1996, when it upholds Colorado's Amendment 2 in Romer v. Evans:

Chief Justice: William Rhenquist (confirmed in 1986)
Associate Justices: John Paul Stevens (confirmed in 1975), Sandra Day O'Connor (1981), Antonin Scalia (1986), Anthony Kennedy (1987), Edith Jones (1990), Clarence Thomas (1991), Emilio Garza (1993), Kenneth Starr (1994)

Opinion written by Scalia, J., joined by Rhenquist, Jones, Thomas, Garza and Starr.

Concurring opinions by Thomas and Rhenquist

Dissenting opinions by Kennedy, O'Connor, and Stevens

Kerry winning in 2004 means no "Citizens United" as he would replace Rehnquist and possibly O'Connor if she decides to retire as she did OTL, as well as Souter and Stevens who could retire earlier than OTL.

Romney winning in 2012 means that the Supreme Court stays conservative for another generation as he'd have no problem getting a replacement for Scalia through the Senate, even if it were during an election year.

Dukakis in '88 could prove interesting for the court as Brennan and Marshall still would retire as OTL, and White and Blackmun could retire earlier than OTL, that plus Stevens could prove make a liberal majority lasting at least two decades.

Thomas R. Marshall runs and wins the 1920 presidential election. This results in Marshall picking the chief Justice and 4 Associate Justice.

James McReynolds-Chief Justice: 1921 (replacing Edward D. White)
Jacob P. Dunn Jr: 1921 (Replacing James McReynolds)
Judson Harmon: 1922 (Replacing John Hessin Clarke)
Homer Stille Cummings: 1923 (Replacing William R. Day)
John W. Davis: 1923 (Replacing Mahlon Pitney)
Francis Bowes Sayre, Sr. 1925 (Replacing Joseph McKenna)

In OTL Harding and Coolidge appointed:
William Howard Taft—Chief Justice: 1921
George Sutherland: 1922
Pierce Butler: 1923
Edward Terry Sanford: 1923
Harlan F. Stone: 1925
