alternate Soviet Republics

What if Kazakhstan, Turkemnistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzistan remained ASSR rather than being granted status of SSR in USSR? And Moldova was made ASSR of Ukraine (there was Moldovian ASSR before WW2), and I know Stalin wanted Armenia to become ASSR of Georgian SSR.
How would this affect Soviet politics (internal), how could it affect the collapse of Soviet Union, etc.?
Have fun!

Russia would basically be stuck with these ASSR. And it might have attempted to take nad hold adjacent Tajik and Uzbek parts of Afghanistan, either around WWII or in the 1980s.
And Russia would be in danger of having a Muslim majority in 2013 ATTL.
