Alternate royal families/dynasties

This thread is for alternate royal families, that either OTL were extremely obscure, could have been, died off too early, or are entirely fictional (but still plausible).

The format is the following:
House - Countries the dynasty had power in

[Short history, with dates, and a few famous members in history]

I'll start:

House of Rotenstein - Bavaria, Hungary, Denmark, Scotland

Founded in 1253 by Count Heinrich at Rotenstein Castle (which was mostly destroyed in the Franco-Austrian War, in 1943), the House of Rotenstein came from humble origins. Starting as a minor noble family of Bavaria, it quickly rose up to become one of the major families in Europe.

When Count Franz was crowned Duke Franz of Bavaria in 1274, after the death of the forder Duke, Rudolf I, it set the stage for Central European politics to come. The Rotensteins started to marry into other families, namely the Anjou family of France, and the Piasts in Poland.

Various members of the dynasty became famous monarchs in their respective countries. For example, in Hungary, Erzebet I (1501-1547) was also known as Elizabeth the Great, for repulsing the 1st Ottoman invasion of Hungary, along with helping to bring Hungary to the standards of other Western European powers, and setting the stage for the Age of Fortune in Hungary.

The dynasty also ruled over Denmark and its holdings, along with Scotland, during different periods of time (1634-1671 for rulership of Denmark, and 1536-1734 for Scotland).

In 1734, the death of the last Rotenstein outside of Bavaria and Hungary started a succession war which pitted Bavaria, France, and Hungary against England-Burgundy, Austria, Spain, and Poland. The ensuing war killed many of the heirs of Ludwig VII, which crippled the Rotenstein family.

Eventually, the death of Karl III spelt the end of the main branch of the Rotensteins, but two cadet branches, the House of Rotenstein-Landshut in Bavaria, and the House of Rotenstein-Slavonia in Hungary (renamed to the House of Argovia during the Franco-Austrian War), remained. The House of Rotenstein-Landshut went extinct, after the final heir, Johannes of R-L, died in 1959.

To this day, the House of Argovia is still a major political power in Hungary, although off to the sideline, since the Janos Reforms of 1923.
