Alternate Results of the Irish 9 Years War

So, between 1594-1603, a massive rebellion broke out in Ireland against Tudor rule/control/influence there. Also known as Tyrone's rebellion, the revolt was spearheaded by Hugh O'Neill, the chief of the clan O'Neill, and also the Earl of Tyrone. During this war, there was some Spanish intervention on the side of the Irish, and also Scottish mercenaries played a pretty important role on the side of the Irish. It looks to me that there was a very good chance for Irish success and independence with the O'Neill Dynasty taking the position of High King.

But there are many different outcomes to the war, such as the prospect of a Habsburg Ireland, and English Ruled Ireland without the Ulster Plantation, and really for any Reformation TL or Irish TL, it's a good place to look at for POD's.

Now I know next to nothing on the Nine Years War, except that it was the last war fought during the rule of Elizabeth I.

Now it is possible that an Irish victory would lead to a Hapsburgs coming to power in Ireland, it was said that O'Neill, the leading member of the Irish chieftains in opposition to England was willing to offer the Irish throne to Philip II but refused. So for that to happen, make Philip not refuse, or rather have Philip's son, (Philip III of Spain) take over as King of Ireland and then inherit the rest once Philip II dies.
