So I'm exploring this concept for my Washington Burns TL, but figured this could be a useful topic for other people and other timelines besides mine, so I thought I'd start this thread.
My specific TL has it's POD in 1814, so I am figuring there would be a disruption in the "Second Great Awakening" of OTL. I don't think it would kill it, just alter/blunt the effects of the movement. Slow the spread of Baptists and Methodists. Also I'm interested in the possibilities of a greater spread and adherence to Episcopalianism, and possibly some continued Diest influences (maybe more Unitarianism?).
Thoughts? Definitely would love to talk to people who know more about this than I do. Grew up in a more fundamentalist background (not something I claim today
) so I have gaps in my knowledge of more recent religious history in the US.
