Alternate Presidents in 60s.

Nelson Rockefeller I suppose.

Whoever Eisenhower's VP would be in the alternate timeline.

Ronald Reagan.

Goodwin Knight.

William Knowland.

Hubert Humphrey.

RFK and Ronald Reagan are improbable in 1960.Adlai is weak after two defeat.Rockefeller and Humphrey are probable. What about Scranton or Cabot-Lodge?

You said during the 60s, and in 1968 Ronald Reagan was a plausible contender (assuming he gives an ATL version of his Goldwater speech).

Lodge wouldn't run very hard for it, but I suppose if someone gave it to him….

As for Scranton, a Rockefeller unencumbered by Nixon or Goldwater overshadows him vastly.

Could anything have brought Margaret Chase Smith into contention?

Being born a man?

Besides being a woman she's also from Maine, not exactly a key state for either side.

I suppose it's possible she ends up as VP candidate in 1960 or 1964 and is a Presidential contender in 1968 though I'm not sure how likely it would be.
