Borders that are either crazy, anachronistic, or crazily anachronistic, roads that flip the bird to mountain ranges to make nice little squares…

Eh, it's America as we'd like it to shape it. :p

Minus the whacked-out government.

Besides the weird borders, I really don't see Ensenada becoming the major port on the Pacific. It's certainly not going to become larger than San Diego or anything in the Bay Area.

This definitely an interesting idea, man, and in fact, it even reminds me of some of my own ideas from years past. Also, welcome to AH.com. :D

I like it, unique names and relativity recognizable borders per OTL, although do the Northern states (Alaska, Nunavut, Northwest territory) really need to be split up?

I personally give it an A+ just because Arizona has a port to the sea :p.

Hmmm interesting

The no capital thing I suspect is the key to the POD. I seem to remember that there was a suggestion about the law makers moving about the 13 states rather than having a capital built especially for them (the anti-fedralists presumably).

Ok so Mexico covers the countries up to South America, retains the Caribean islands, but looses the Pacific Islands.

I assume the Franch loose their Carbean islands in 1825 (Canada lost in 1763, Great Plains {I am assuming this is Louisiana} in 1802 as per OTL. It's the loss of the sugar islands that I can't find a reason for. Had it been earlier (i.e. 1815) then they could be Swedish and join the Federation in 1917 or later (i.e. 1848 or 52) they could have joined the Federation after the fall of the Second Republic.

I am assuming that something happened in the 1910's to bring everyone together, I am also assuming this would have been WWI OR an economic melt down (similar to 1929 but worse)?
