Same 30 team format with some franchises the same as in OTL, POD could be anytime really....thoughts?

Not everyone would be happy with some of the choices. Myself, I still look back at "six teams" as best.

Why the fuck does Miami get a team, yet Tampa bay Doesn't? No-one else in the southeast even likes Hockey! We're the only metro south of the Mason-Dixon line with enough Canadians and Canadianized-Americans to really support a team.

Also, Baltimore, Richmond and DC are really too close together to have two separate teams in the same expansion, or at all in any time after the advent of Television. Same goes for Seattle and Vancouver.

NOLA might be a good place for a team though.

What's the big deal with the Majors anyway? The Seattle area already has two minor/junior hockey teams; one in Everett the other in Kent, and both in the same league.

Seattle has had an NHL team. It was the first team from America to win a Stanley Cup. But their teams have failed to succeed at the box office ever since.

What was the name of it? Their WHL teams don't seem to have much trouble. Of course their players get paid considerably less, and the seats are cheaper.

I believe the home arena of OTL Florida Panthers is located in Miami; it just seemed to make sense since being Florida's most populous city, Miami simply has a larger market from which to draw a fan base. I never really understood what the big deal over Tampa is anyway; sorry, I don't mean to sound ignorant but I've never lived in Florida, so...

Well, there are cities currently in the NHL that are relatively close together (e.g. Buffalo and Toronto), plus more than one team in the same city even (NYC & L.A.); if anything, you could potentially create something of a rivalry between franchises that are in close proximity of each other.
Baltimore & DC are close to each other, I agree, but I believe there is a relatively high population base in the area from which to draw a fan base, plus the aforementioned rivalry. :D

Miami doesn't have enough Canadians, plus they have a Football, Baketball and Baseball team already. Tampa Bay is where Yankees generally go to die. As a result, we're about as Canadianized as you can get, and actually give a shit about Hockey. Mostly because the Lightning weren't a sick joke like the Buccs or Rays are/were. That, and they actually win.

Buffalo and Toronto are in different media markets, and NYC is just huge, with old teams.

The only reason Florida exists is because the Blockbuster guy wanted hockey team. A and why would Richmond want an NHL team?
