Ukrainian President Turchynov Confirms Russian Troops Have Crossed Ukraine-Russia Border

By STEPHEN CASTLE March 28, 2014

Kiev - Ukrainian tensions with Russia over the controversial annexation of Crimea have all but erupted into open war, as Ukrainian interim president Olexander Turchynov spoke in an emergency press conference in Kiev where he “confirmed” that around 80,000 Russian troops that were engaging in a massive buildup over several days have crossed into the border with Ukraine. The news of Russian troops overtly invading Eastern Ukraine, in contrast to the covert invasion of Crimea has sent shockwaves through the international community as Western powers scramble to respond to yet another, more serious crisis that has erupted in Eastern Europe.

As several days passed with frequent violent clashes between police, pro-EU demonstrators and pro-Russian demonstrators in Eastern Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed concern that further measures were needed to be used to protect Russian citizens and interests in Eastern Ukraine as they had been done so earlier in Crimea.

Cartoonist Schulz Critical After Studio Fire
Sebastopol - Popular cartoonist Charles Schulz is in critical condition after a fire at his studio. Fire department officials are investigating the cause of the fire. Schulz, the mastermind behind Peanuts, has been working out of the studio for just over eight years.

Note: OTL, the fire was in 1966, but Schulz wasn't hurt. LOL - this was intended for Selma. I'll leave it here too.

Anyways:

President Nixon signs Equal Rights Amendment into the Constitution

The President does not have a formal role in ratifying amendments-the headline would be something like-

President Nixon praises Ratification of Equal Rights Amendment

President Nixon praises Ratification of Equal Rights Amendment

Multiple amendments have had ceremonial signings. I feel Nixon would be one to associate himself with the Equal Rights Amendment with such an occasion.
