The term Romania was not used officially before 1862 when the United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia were renamed Romanian United Principalities and as a stand alone name before 1866, decades after the independence of Greece. Had newly independent Greece decided to call itself Vasílion tis Rhōmaiōn officially and R(h)omania inofficially the United Principalities would either have continued to call themselves Moldavia and Wallachia and later, after Transsylvania became part of the country might have revived the ancient name Dacia or Dakia instead of using the unwieldy name of Kingdom of Moldavia, Transsylvania and Wallachia. Italy also didn't unite until the 1860's and might have contented itself after that to merely request that Vasílion tis Rhōmaiōn be translated as Kingdom of Rhomea or Kingdom of the Rhomeans instead of Kingdom of Rome or Kingdom of the Romans. If they do this, they will have an eternal conflict with Romania, like the cultural war with Macedonia.
Also, Italian fascists will not like this.
