Alternate names for Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network

I understand Pinwheel was Nick's original name in the late 70's, but what other names could have been used for this particular channel? As for the Cartoon Network, it sounds kinda generic but it was able to stick, but could there have been any other names that probably didn't make the cut? Might do an ASB thread on comics and animation some day.

For Cartoon Network, perhaps The Turner Animated Channel (TAC), or the Warner Animation Network.

I can't think of anything for Nick, but Nickelodeon was a term used for small theaters which showed movies for only 5 cents, so maybe something off that.

Son,Nick was owned by Viacom.I agree with you labeling CN in this alt. universe TAC,but for Nick we should go Viacom Childrens Network or Paramount Kids Chanel.

Had they keep the original Turner designation system

Turner Cartoons station TCS
Turner Network Cartoons TNC

and Cartoon Chaos as CN was under rule of Stuart Snyder...

Pinball would be a good alternate name for Nickelodeon as that was (derived from) the original name for the network, and a silver pinball was the network's mascot until the mid 1980s, when they changed to the orange splat.

Alternatively, post-Pinball, you could call the network "The Splat".

Cartoon Network could be called Turner Animation Network, Aniverse ("Animation Universe"), or Animation Network!
