I'm currently doing a timeline which has a POD in the 1860s and one of the effects is that WWI as we know it is butterflied away, it pretty much leads to a more monarchist Europe, with monarchs on the thrones of Britain, France, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Russia etc...
But I was thinking, in my timeline the Austro-Hungarian Empire goes through a series of reforms where it is reformed into more of a confederation with equal rights amongst all ethnic groups, initiated by Franz Ferdinand (similar to a "United States of Austria" - search it up) which means the Habsburg Empire never collapses. But I'm not sure that Austria-Hungary is such a great name for the new country, and also the United States of Austria sounds more of a republican name to me (and the USA acronym is already taken

) so I was wondering what a good name could be for this new confederation that still has a monarchist vibe to it (if you get what I mean).
PS, the Dual Monarchy is also quite similar to "Austria-Hungary" as it is only referring to two crowns/countries of many within the confederation.
Or, am I being unreasonable. Would the populations of the other groups apart from the Austrians or Hungarians be ok with having the name Austria-Hungary or would the want something different for the new confederation?
