Alternate Movie Casting

And in the Step by Step Time line, James Dean Lives and Paul Newman career does not goes as well as in the OTL.

This leave me with a problem. Who would Star in Exodus, the 1960's movie directed by Otto Preminger. Newman is out on this timeline. (I have him doing a minor role at the time)
Jame Dean is also out for the same reason, He would be doing another film.
And we can rule out Charleston Heston and Steve McQueen for similar reason.

I thought about Sean Connery but that would be to soon in his career. I could not see Preminger hiring him for that role, at that point in his career.
Richard Johnson is another possibility but we have the same problem. It early in his career.

Would Richard Todd be a good choice for the role played by Newman in OTL in the Film?

Please let me know what you think?

Diana Rigg would have made a good Modesty Blaise with Michael Caine as her offsider Willie.
Good call there. If Helm were a Brit, I'd pick Caine there, too.

James Garner as Travis Mcgee maybe.
 He'd need to be taller IMO, & get a blonde dye job, & a deep, deep tan. For Matt Helm, he'd be perfect. (If you've ever seen "Hour of the Gun", you'll know why.)

Actually I did hear that Tom Selleck ...turned it down.
Had to: he was committed to "Magnum". (Come to think of it, he'd make a decent McGee....)

for Modesty. Right now I leaning to a unknown Asian Actress
 She's supposed to be a gorgeous blonde. Isn't she? So, yes, Claudia Cardinale with a dye job. Or Bardot. Can you find somebody who was an athlete in her offscreen time? You can train her with stunt fighters/martial artists til she's remotely good enough, & figure your audience in the '60s hasn't seen enough chopsocky to know a good fight from a bad one.

I still thinking about having Fonda arrested for Treason for visiting North Vietnam during a War.
(My Father was in Vietnam. He hates Fonda)
Good on you.:cool::cool::cool: Give Hanoi Jane 200 years.

Modesty was dark hair in the comics. It was only the Movie that made her a blond.
