Using either an older airframe with newer equipment *or* different tech specific to the era the plane was made in, create a different aircraft from OTL and give some idea of how performance changes.

-B-47 OTL specs include J47-GE-25 engines x6; thrust for each was 26.56 kN/5970 lb*f dry or 31 kN/6970 lb*f (wet) thrust for a total thrust of 159.36 kN/35,820 lb*f (or 186 kN/41,820 lb*f); specific fuel consumption 1.014 lb*(lb*f), specific fuel capacity just over 17,000 gallons (at 6lbs per gallon approx. 102,000 pounds; later reduced to 14,500 gallons or 87,000 pounds after in-flight refueling became prevalent), each engines weighs 2554 lbs, total engine weight: 15234 lbs

->Swap with Orenda Iroquois engines x2 (CL-52 used one of these attached to one side of the aircraft...); each: 86.1 kN/19,350 lb*f dry or 114 kN/25,600 lb*f (wet) thrust for a total thrust of 172 kN/38,700 lb*f (or 228 kN/51,200 lb*f); specific fuel consumption 0.85 lb*(lb*f) dry <or 1.9 lb*(lb*f) wet>, each engines weighs 4650 lbs, total engine weight: 9300 lbs [6000 lbs or about 1000 gallons fuel]

-->New specs: Given an empty weight just under 36,000 lbs, a gross weight of 133,000 lbs, a max takeoff weight of 230,000 lbs, a cruise velocity of 557 MPH (249 m/s), and an original ferry range of 4647 miles, if used solely for fuel the engine swap above should allow for a new ferry range of 5804 miles, or 24.9% farther. Combat radius at that same amount improves from just over 2000 to about 2500 miles with a 20,000 lb bombload.



***Note: Someone actually put one of these engines on a B-47 as part of the CL-52 project but didn't take any other engines off and stuck the engine to one side of the existing airframe (which already known for metal fatigue concerns). Unsurprisingly, it warped the airframe and was sent back after a total of 35 hours of flight testing...
