Alternate marriage for Napoleon III

What would change for him/France/the World if Napoleon III married someone other than Eugenie.

Maybe he managed to marry either Carola of Vasa or Adelheid of Hohenhole-Langenburg.

Or he can marry some other princess or noblewomen If so which do you think could make for an interesting Empress..

An Austrian government with more political savvy could have brokered a marriage with Carola, who was related to Napoleon III. An "in" with Paris could have opened the door to an advantageous settlement in Italy, cooperation in containing Prussia and an avoidance of conflict with Russia? Carola was pious and humble and would have stayed out of politics presumably. Children seem unlikely.

If N III marries a genuine royal, that may change some of his attitudes. Ironically, AIUI Eugenie was a reactionary influence on him, despite her low rank.

Adelheid is amusing, as it puts the Bonapartes into kinship with the British royal family (she being Victoria's niece by her maternal half-sister). She had seven children, which suggests greater fertility than Eugenie.

Thanks you both for your thought on the subject.

I will make a more detailed answer tomorrow as I'm currently at work.
