Alternate Marriage alliance between Spain and Austria

I was thinking, is it possible for Maximilian himself, to marry Isabella of Aragon, he is a widower already and have his daughter married to Juan of Asturias..

For Philip the Fair, he would marry Anne of Brittany

This would result in another line of Habsburgs acquiring Spain but they have no claim to Burgundy.

I think it's possible but it runs counter to what the Iberian Monarchs desired which was a Union of the three crowns. The best way to separate Spain and Burgundy would be for the estates of the Netherlands recognise Maximilian I as Mary's heir, that way he could supposing thinks go as they did in OTL he could designate the territories more effectively.

Another way to achieve this would be to have Philip the Handsome live longer. He too would be able to designate the territories more efficiently and he would be the unquestioned heir to Mary the Rich as her eldest son (her youngest son Francis didn't live long).

That's completely true too. I worry he may favour Charles since he's the eldest. Really the best division would've been the Netherlands, Milan & the Austrian Hereditary lands to Ferdinand; Naples & Spain to Charles. Both branches would collaborate but there'd be a good amount of parity especially after the acquisition of Bohemia, Hungary & Croatia for the Junior line.
