Alternate Indian Territory??

Hello, in a timeline I'm developing the USA does not expand past the Mississippi. And it brought me to the question wether there would still be an designated Indian territory upon where most native tribes would be deported? If not would the reservation system still exist? And if so then where would this alt Indian territory be located?

Florida maybe? Southern Florida for the longest time was undesirable swampland, and there were already the Seminoles nearby to set the precedent. That could work.

The US conquers some part of India, or the East Indies, in a war. As their holdings expand, they organize it into a territory, known as "Indian Territory".

Indiana was originally set aside for native lands, hence its name. Perhaps parts of the state could remain that way.
