Alternate History songs

Kind of self explanatory, you make up lyrics to a song from AH and post it it can be a mirror image of a OTL one. For example,

And the Alabama girls really knock me out they leave the East behind and the DC girls make me scream and shout and Georgia's always on my my my my my mind!
I'm back in the USSA boys,
You don't know how lucky you are
back in the USSA

Edit: English translation if "Back in the USSA" by the German pop band "Die Mücken" or "The Gnats"

Interesting thread. I was listening to a song from 2000 ("A.M. Radio" (2000), by Everclear, if you were wondering), that nostalgically remembered the 1970s. I noticed how a lot of the things that the song used to represent modern, futuristic tech was already outdated thirteen years later, such as portable CD players and VCRs, which have been replaced by phablets and DVRs, respectively. So here goes...

--------

"F.M. Radio" (2032), by Grey Goose.

Off Grey Goose's 2032 album Tweets of an American Blogger, Edition 1: Forgetting How to Spam. The song harkens back to the frontman's childhood, circa 2000-2002, recalling how much life has changed over three decades.

Flashback to 2002: Another summer in the neighborhood, hanging out with nothing to do.
Sometimes we'd go driving around in my sister's Civic, cruising with the windows rolled down.
We'd listen to the radio station; we were too damn poor to buy a C.D.
It wasn't then a good time to want to be inside. My momma want to watch the news all goddamn night.

I'd be in bed with the radio on.
I would listen to it all night long just to hear my favorite song.
You'd have to wait 'til you could hear it on the F.M. Radio.
Yeah, you could hear the music on the F.M. Radio.
I can still hear momma say, "Boy, turn that radio down!"

Things changed back in 2001
We were all growing up on the in and the run
We got in trouble with the police man
We got busted gettin' high with of my friend's band

Dixie Pride

Song by an Unknown Confederate Solder during The Preservation War (North trying to take back the south)

O' when the Yanks come knocking at the door
Not one of us will cower on the floor…
We'll stay right were we stand
And drive 'em off our land

Cause we're Dixie
And we've got Dixie pride
O we've got Dixe
Dixie pride

If they come in the Thousands
We'll drive 'em off…… by the Thousands
From Texas to 'Bama, from The Potomac to the gulf
From New Orleans to Richmond, yes we'll drive 'em off

Cause we're Dixie
And we've got Dixie Pride
O we've got Dixie
Dixie Pride

I have no idea how it's supposed to be sung it just came to me.

In the Hunger Games the Capitol has an anthem here's my take on it if anyone's watching.

The Capitol shall lead us into the light of day
If we fallow peacefuly and in the Hunger Games we play
Hope has risen from the ashes
There is Panem and its here to stay

Glory to our people
Glory to our Capitol
Glory to our Districts
Glory to Panem

In 1 they make great luxury
In 2 they cut stone
In 3 they make electronics of the highest quality
In 4 they catch fish and rip them of their bones

Glory to our people
Glory to our Capitol
Glory to our Districts
Glory to Panem

In 5 they make power
In 6 they give us Trains
In 7 they cut down trees to make build towers
In 8 they give us clothing without wich there'd be shame

Glory to our people
Glory to our Capitol
Glory to our Districts
Glory to Panem

In 9 they give us grains
In 10 they give us meat
In 11 they give us plants so we don't die in pain
In 12 the give us coal for heat

Glory to our people
Glory to our Capitol
Glory to our Districts
Glory to Panem

Glory to our people
Glory to our Capitol
Glory to our Districts
Glory to Panem

The Coup and Destruction of Moscow (Armenia 2017)

I've seen the lights go out on Red Square-
I saw Saint Basil's Church laid low.
And life went on beyond the Palisades,
They all bought Zaporozhets-
And left there long ago.

We held a rally by the Kremlin-
To watch the Moskva's bridges blow.
They turned our power down,
And drove us underground-
But we went right on with the show...

I've seen the lights go out on Red Square-
I saw the ruins at my feet,
You know we almost didn't notice it-
We'd see it all the time on Arbatskaya Street.

They burned the Izmailova churches-
Like in that Chinese Civil War-
The flames were everywhere,
But no one really cared-
It always burned up there before...

I've seen the rats lie down on Red Square-
I watched Lenin's great monument fall.
The boats were waiting at Barrikadnaya,
The sailors all were shot-
They never sailed at all.

They sent the army out from Ye-burg -
Recalled diplomats from D.C.
They said Sokol could stay,
They blew Presnya away-
And left the Duma out at sea....

You know those lights were bright on Red Square-
But that was so many years ago...
Before we all lived here in Yerevan-
Before Japan retook the archipelago
There are not many who remember-
They say a handful still survive...
To tell the world about...
The way the lights went out,
And keep the memory alive....

Paul McCartney and Wings - Give Scotland Back to the Scottish

Give Scotland back to the Scottish
Don't make them have to take it away
Give Scotland back to the Scottish
Make Scotland Scottish today

Old England you are tremendous
For every beck and call
But really what are you doin'
In the land across the wall

Tell me how would you like it
If on your way to work
You were stopped by Scottish soliders
Would you lie down do nothing
Would you give in, or go berserk

Give Scotland back to the Scottish
Don't make them have to take it away
Give Scotland back to the Scottish
Make Scotland Scottish today

Party in the C.S.A. by Miley Cyrus
hopped off the plane at New Orleans with a dream and my cardigan
Welcome to the land of Partying Excess (Whoa), am I gonna fit in?
Jumped in the cab here I am for the first time
Look to my right and I see the Lee Monument
This is all so crazy, everybody seems so famous

My tummy's turning and I'm feeling kinda home sick
Too much pressure and I'm nervous
That's when the taxi man turned on the radio
And a Con-Fed song was on
And the Con-Fed song was on, and the Con-Fed song was on

So I put my hands up they're playing my song
The butterflies fly away
Nodding my head like Yeah
Moving my hips like Yeah

I got my hands up they're playing my song
I know I'm gonna be okay
Yeah, Eh-Eh, Eh-Eh-Eh
It's a party in the C.S.A
Yeah, Eh-Eh, Eh-Eh-Eh
It's a party in the C.S.A

Get to the club in my taxi cab everybody's looking at me now
Like who's that chick that's rocking kicks? She gotta be from out of town
So hard with my girls not around me
It's definitely not a Yankee party
'Cause all I see are stilettos, I guess I never got the memo

Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones)

Please allow me to introduce myself,
I'm a man of wealth and taste,
I've been along for a long, long year,
Stole many man's soul and faith.

I was round when Muhammad had his moment of doubt and pain,
made damn sure the Basileus washed his hands and sealed his fate.
Pleased to meet you,
Hope you guess my name,
but what's puzzling you is the nature of my game...

Stuck around Washington D.C. when I saw it was time for a change,
Killed the Prez and his ministers,
The First Lady screamed in vain.

I rode a tank, held a general's rank
while Great War raged, and the body's stank,
Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name, oh yeah
What's puzzling you is the nature of my name, oh yeah,

I watched the glee while your Kings and Queens,
Fought for ten decades, for the gods they made,
I shouted out, "Who killed the Windsors?"
When after-all, it was you and me.

Let me please introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste,
And I laid traps for troubadours, who get killed before they reach Bombay,
Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name.
But what's puzzling you, is the nature of my name.
Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name,
But what's confusing you is the nature of my name (Oh yeah)

Just as every cop is a criminal,
and all the sinner saints,
At the end of this tale, just call me Lucifer, because I'm in need of some restraint,

So if you meet me, have some courtesy, sympathy and some taste,
Use all your well-learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste.
Oh yeah, pleased to meet you, hope you know my name,
Oh yeah... get down...

This an unbelievable song from the great worm plague of 2019 that shut down most computers for months on end:

We are everywhere. We are many.
We can get you anytime we want.

We want you now.
We want you now.
We have you now.
We have you now.

This song played whenever the worm invaded someone's phone, computer, tablet, television or other appliance. It stayed in the system sending detailed reports off to it's creator.

Ivan Machakala-Uralskiye Mountain High
-------------------------------------------
He was born in the summer of his 10th year
Comin' home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door

When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hangin' by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keeps changin' fast and it don't last for long

But the Uralskiye mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye
Ural mountain high

Rocky mountain high

He climbed Iremel mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun
And he lost a friend but kept the memory

Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake

And the Uralskiye rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
Talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Ural mountain high

Rocky mountain high

Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land

And the Ural mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
Ural mountain high

It's a Ural mountain high
I've seen it rain fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky mountain high

Ural mountain high

Ural mountain high

Ural mountain high

Ural mountain high

Ural mountain high

G.I. Blues by Elvis Presley, c. 1950's

They give us a room with a view of the beautiful Wolga,
They give us a room with a view of the beautiful Wolga,
Give me a muddy ol' creek in Texas any ol' time,

I got those hup-2-3-4 Occupation GI Blues,
From my GI Hair, to the heels of my GI shoes,
And if I don't go stateside soon, I'mma blow my fuse.

We get pirozkhi[1] and vodka for chow,
We get pirozkhi and vodka for chow,
I'd blow my next month's pay for a slice of Texas cow,

We'd like to be heroes, but all we do here is march,
We'd like to be heroes, but all that we do here is march,
And they don't give the Purple Heart for a falling Arch,

I got those hup-2-3-4 Occupation GI Blues,
From my GI Hair, to the heels of my GI shoes,
And if I don't go stateside soon, I'mma blow my fuse.

The damies[2] are pretty as flowers, but we can't make a pass,
The damies are pretty as flowers, but we can't make a pass,
All the signs say "Keep off the grass, capitalist!"

I got those hup-2-3-4 Occupation GI Blues,
From my GI Hair, to the heels of my GI shoes,
And if I don't go stateside soon, I'mma blow my fuse.

Occupation GI Blues! (Occupation GI Blues!)
At ease!

[1] I don't know how to spell it.
[2] "damies" could be American slang for Russian women after the US occupied Soviet Russia ;)

Bonnie Charlie's hame again,
Why dee ye ha' to leave us so?
Bonnie Charlie's hame again--
I hardly can believe it's so!

Chorus:

Aye, Culloden's woe is past!
Have ye noo cam back at last?
Bar the gates, and make them fast--
The Britons, sure'lll be maddened!

Bonnie Charlie was awa'
Hidden o'er the stormy main,
Mony a heart was break in twa--
Of Scotia sair complainin!

Be the day sa' bright and fair--
Sound the song fra' dale and glen,
Rend the clouds, and gasp the air!
The Highlands' love is back again!

The following IOTL song has haunted me trying to come up with a story for it--

I'll wear my plaidy, contented to be,
A wee bitty kilted abun my knee,
And I'll gi' my pipes anither blaw,
And I'll gang oer the hills, to Gallawa.

(Chorus)
Oh, the Gallowa Hills, are covered wi' broom--
Wi heather bells, in bonnie bloom,
Wi' heather bells, and river's a',
And we'll gang o'er the hills, to Gallawa.

O, say bonnie lass, will ye gang wi' me,
Tae share my lot in the far country,
Tae share wi me, when doon fa's a',
And we'll gang oe'r the hills, to Gallowa.

I'll hawk my rock, and I'll hawk my reel,
I'll hawk my granny's spinning wheel,
Hawk the lot, when doon fa's a',
And we'll gang o'er the hills, to Gallowa.

I keep thinking there has to be a story to "gang" wi' this song. All this talk of "doon falls all" makes me think of a doomsday scenario.

More of a poem than a song:
The Death of King George

Old George went to Germany
To promote peace, as we see
But George was no German
And the Germans ignored him
Except one with his trusty D.III.
