My native and most beloved province of Scania was, believe it or not, once a kingdom in the 14th century. If I recall correctly this lasted less than a decade and for the entire time, it was in personal union with Sweden. With the close cultural ties to both Sweden and Denmark, there has never really been a Scanian independence movement, like it was with Norway. Still, I've long been of the opinion that Scandinavian history would have been more colourful had there been an additional Nordic kingdom in the form of Scania, situated between Denmark and Sweden. So, I offer this Alternate History Challenge in order to create it and to have it endure over the centuries. The point of divergence must be somewhere between 1397 (the formation of the Kalmar Union) and 1523 (its de facto dissolution).
