Alternate History Challenge: An Arabian Scandinavia

No, this has nothing to do with the absurd worldview and ideology of Anders Behring Breivik! I'm just curious about the possibility of making Scandinavia an area primarily inhabited by people of Arabian origin, of Muslim faith and customs originating in Arabian culture.

The Point of Divergence must be no earlier than June 9, 632, the day after the prophet Muhammed's death, and the result must be achieved no later than 1523, when the Kalmar Union in our timeline was dissolved.

An Arabian Scandinavia is probably ASB, the area is just too distant to be Arabized like Egypt or North Africa. A Muslim Scandinavia might be possible if the Rus convert to Islam rather than Christianity. You would need the Arabs to defeat Byzantium for that to occur.

Maybe the Arabs conquer Constantinople in 718? Not sure if that's plausible.

I call ASB as well. Not only is it unlikely for them to go so far north, why would they want to? And in enough numbers to displace the Norse population no less?

They wouldn't have to overwhelm the Norse people, since they did assimilate the Berbers or North Africa and the Assyrians of the Levant into the "Arabs". But yes, Scandinavia becoming Muslim (let alone Arab) is ASB.

Borderline ASB, I think.
It would require at least the following:
- Arab-muslim conquest of Europe - ALL of it. Scandinavia is probably the last place a victorious Arab army would want, after all the other countries have been taken.
- A MASSIVE colonization-effort across all of Europe for centuries. And again, Scandinavia would be the last places to be exposed to that - there are other, more important, areas that are closer to "the mainland" (which I'll assume to be Spain/al-Andalus)

I think we could take the example of the Ottoman Empire. In control of the Balkans for centuries, but only a tiny minority of the population even converted to islam, and assimilation to Turkish language and culture was...non-existent (also due to the fact that the Ottomans had no such colonization efforts)
Dedicated missionary efforts COULD have made the populations of Europe mainly islamic. But mainly Arabic? No.
