Alternate History at Spiked

*sigh*

I'm not sure what went wrong there, but do they seriously advocate that by massproducing the Me-262, the Germans could've won the war by "devastating the allied forces" and "not only would they be able to attack and annihilate the american air forces at D-day... then begin to fire at the ships in the English channel".

Alternate history? More like ASB...

Edit: 7 minutes into the episode about WWII, Nazi germany could've beaten the US to the bomb! With proper funding. Which kind of off-sets the whole massproduce Me-262...

I've never understood why people get butthurt about stuff like this. To a mass audience storylines involving AH need to be jazzed up. That's fair enough. ASBs are entertaining.

I think sometimes that we forget that AH is an essentially meaningless hobby- it's a fun timewaster but in the end much of what we do would be thunderously boring to a mainstream audience. Hell, I find 60% of the threads on this site incredibly boring simply because they deal with issues I'm not familiar with or don't really care about and I'm sure the same is true for most of us.

Quite frankly, it's much more interesting to have a show positing a dramatic twist like the Nazis being able to crush the Normandy landing with super-secret-jet-fighters.

I admit that I'm a biased source because in my AH I don't really care about plausibility so long as it's narratively satisfying.
