India: Bhārat or even Meluḫḫa (If one wants a radically different history)

China: Zhongguo, maybe T'ang

Mexico: Ēxcān Tlahtōlōyān or, if we were in a TL where the Maya dominated Mesoamerica, Mayaia (or something similar)

Peru (Or the Civilized Andes as a whole): Tawantinsuyu or if the Chinese came before the Inka, Chimor

Iraq: Akkad, Kienĝir, Babylonia

Australia: Tasmania

Egypt: Kemet

Nigeria: Oyo, Igboland, &c.

The Caribbean Sea: The Taíno Sea

Amazonia: Marajoara, Marajó

The Americas/New World: Anahuac

Africa: Tp Rsy

Sub-Saharan Africa: Punt
 
In the vein some people incorrectly call Britain a 'Greater England' at least in regards to language, culture, etc. I'm surprised Castile never similarly caught on.

Maybe it's due to the adjective not ending in -ish for convenience. :p

Heck, when you think on it, the Roman Empire was known as Roma/Romania for the city rather than the native ethnic group of Latium that founded it...

Spanish is called Kastila over here, though, but it is true; we call Spain España.
