One thing I was thinking of is Kritarchy, or rule by judges and courts

With the "Lords" being a fusion of nobles and priests - the Lords Temporal and Lords Spiritual respectively.

Yes, although some of the nobles (i.e., the knights) were considered commoners for the purposes of Parliamentary representation.

Another form I imagnied would be a government under some sort of auction: that political offices would be occupied on the basis of some sort of auction. The money paid in auctions might very well cover the costs of state function, and would result in decrease or possibly even abolition of taxes

Patrinocracy (from latin Patrinus=godfather)could be a mafia-led government

Coupocracy would be a rather modern form of government. It would mean in practice that anyone who would call a manifestion or demonstration would be promoted to political offices. His term would end as soon as someone else would lead a manifestation.
Problems with such a governmnet form:

• might result in the military overthrowing the regime and put end to coups.
• or might result in a civil war
• or total anarchy .
