Ya know, I killed the last thread for getting into current politics, just like what is happening now.

Don't really want to kill this one, but it is in your hands.

That awkward moment when Carter doesn't even win his running mate's home state. But he still wins West Virginia because that was a blue state back then.

Am I allowed to make a map where I essentially pull all the results out of my butt? An example would be Clinton losing Arkansas in 1992 to Ron Paul.

Gov. Ronald Reagan (AF-CA)/Rep. Donald Rumsfeld (AF-IL): 344 EVs, 45.2%
Pres. Nelson Rockefeller (C-NY)/Vice Pres. John Connally (C-TX): 136 EVs, 35.9%
Rep. Patsy Mink (S-HI)/Fmr Sen, Eugene McCarthy (S-CA): 58 EVs, 16.6%

The economy was doing terrible and China was in a standoff with the United States over Taiwan. Were Rockefeller's chances of winning reelection high? No. Governor Reagan of California, who ran 4 years earlier, was able to become the first President of the United States from the America First Party.

I'm working on a Wikipedia style county map in MS Paint, and these are the 6 states I've finished so far. I expect this to take a while so I'm going to keep updating this map until I have all 50 states done, at which point I will, of course, post the county map. it's going to be a Democratic landslide with the Democratic candidate doing especially well in the South.

These are the state I've finished so far, shaded by the statewide margin:

"If Bush loses Michigan, he can still win (...)
Bush has the momentum and Arab-American support, coupled with Senator Abraham's win, will push Bush over the top."

This comment isn't really necessary, and both of those sentences made (some) sense at the moment, but still.

I finished an additional 19 states + DC this morning, and now I'm halfway done. as you can see, it's basically going to be 1932/1936 in a more modern setting.

I'm pretty sure she would have done better than this, at least winning Missouri and North Carolina.

Between May 26, 1859, and November 12, 1860, an imperial convention was elected to answer the question of whether or not the Holy American Empire should break into civil war. The convention voted to start a civil war on December 23, 1860, then adjourned. Attempts were made to call a second convention to decide anything at all about the war, but the Imperial Diet enthusiastically voted down all attempts to legislate anything that had anything to do with it or the war in general. And so, the war began with nobody knowing who the combatants would be, least of all the combatants themselves.

For some reason this reads to me as Terry Pratchett-esque. Not sure why though

Suppose they held a war, and nobody came?

Also, do the white districts have no representation, or were just unable to come?
