To date, there has been only one election who's winner was determined by the House of Representatives; the 1824 election. However the occasional third party getting electoral votes have changed this. I have a number of alternate history scenarios from changing the <10% difference per state to the other guy. I would like to know under the House of Representatives who'd likely end up president in this situation
Alt 1836 election(148 needed to win): 108 for Martin Van Buren(Democrat), 111 for William Henry Harrison, 50 for Hugh L White, 14 for Daniel Webster and 11 for Willie P Mangum(Whig)
Alt 1856 election(149 needed to win): 124 for James Buchanan(Democrat), 125 for John C Fremont(Republican), 47 for Millard Fillmore(Know Nothing)
Alt 1892 election(223 needed to win): 219 for Grover Cleveland(Democrat), 200 for Benjamin Harrison(Republican), 25 for James B Weaver(Populist)
Alt 1948 election(266 needed to win): 240 for Harry S Truman(Democrat), 252 for Thomas E Dewey(Republican), 39 for Storm Thurmond(Dixiecrat)
Alt 1968 election(270 needed to win): 253 for Richard Nixon(Republican), 220 for Hubert Humphrey(Democrat), 65 for George Wallace(American Independent)
