Is there any other potential claimants to the title "Caliph of Islam" after the downfall of the Ottoman monarchy? How will this affect the Muslim World if there's a continuity to the Caliphate instead of being nonexistent for several decades?

Well, it didn't last, obviously. And nobody attempted to become Caliph afterwards.
So, any chances for a more stable and lasting Caliph succession after 1924.
