Alternate band names and genre

What if some bands had developed differently-same personnel but at a different point in the development of rock/pop/soul/heavy metal and etc.

For example, Lynyrd Skynyrd of southern rock fame becomes 'Leonard Skinned Her' of death metal fame.

The goal then is to keep the name as similar to the original as possible, but alter it enough to place it in another genre, then give the approximate new time frame. In this case 'Leonard Skinned Her' would have been around in the mid 80's till mabey the early 90's.

Metallics - 80's-90's pop band. popular in the western world, especially among workers. The band members met in a steel mill, hence the name "Metallics". Popular songs were "Enter Sandman" (A song about their boss, Mr. Sandman), "Seek and Destroy" (A protest song about the anti-union laws in the 90's) or "St.Anger" (A song about the situation of many unemployed workers). Though it's unlikely that pop music comes from the working class, Metallics achieved much success.

Seriously, I wish this was OTL.

Nine Inch Spurs rode into the country western scene in 1988. The lone member of the band, Reznor, claims as one of his influences Johnny Cash.

The first all-electronics country western 'band' gained a loyal following with its first couple of albums. Things really broke open for them with the album Saddle Up and Ride, which includes the smash hit 'You Spur Me On' and 'My Side's Achin'. The band reached new heights in popularity with 2 songs from the '98 album Do You Get the Point? that were nominated for Grammys: 'Love Hurts Too' and 'I Wish Your Pain Was Mine'.

Nine Inch Spurs have done a number of remakes, but a NIS fan favorite is the remake of Sonny and Cher's 'A Cowboy's Work is Never Done'.

Red Hot Silly Peppers

An all-girl band (made up of women named 'Pepper') notable for walking out onstage wearing nothing but socks on strap-ons...
