Alternate 2010s Scenarios

Following on from this thread, let's make alternate scenarioa for the 2010s. So from January 1, 2010 to now. I'll start us off with these five.
  1. What if Bouazizi didn't immolate himself, no Arab Spring?
  2. What if Romney won in 2012?
  3. What if Trump didn't run for the 2016 GOP nomination?
  4. What if the US intervened in the Syrian Civil War?
  5. What if the US breached the debt ceiling, defaulted?

Even if Bouazizi didn't immolate himself, seems pretty likely something else would have sparked the Arab Spring.

What if Romney won in 2012?

In this senario, Mitt Romney, picks Junior U.S. Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio, gaining Florida's 29 college votes. This is followed by Ohio, 2.98%, Virginia, 3.87% and Colorado, 5.37%. This gives the Republican party, five point majoirty.

Mitt becomes the first mormon president, while Marco becomes the second catholic vice president, but first Cuban vice president.

Secretary of State - Jon Huntsman, Jr.
Secretary of Treasury - Rick Santorum
Secretary of Defense - Jim Gilmore
Attorney General - Mike Huckabee

What if the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, resulted in Scotland leaving the United Kingdom?

What if the conservatives did not win a four seat majority, ever coalition of some sort:
- ConLib
- LabLib
- LabSNP
- Rainbow
- ConUKIP

Ways to achieve this:
- more turn out (OTL=Turnout 66.4%)
- No SNP scare
- Different media portrayals

What if Russia didn't intervene in Syria?

What if Trump ran in 2012?

What if Clinton challenged Obama in 2012(Probably ASB)?

What if the 2011 Tucson Shooting doesn't happen?

What if Labour stayed in government after the 2010 UK election?
What if Grexit happened?
What if immigration reform passed the US Congress in 2013?
What if Israel bombed Iran in 2012?

1. Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies in her sleep in February 2016, while Antonin Scalia has an enjoyable hunting trip in Texas.
2. Romney raises the IRS issue in 2012.
3. GOP leaders lower expectations after the 2010 mid-terms.
4. Chicago keeps McCown and trades Jay Cutler after the 2013 season.
5. Devin Hester doesn't leave Chicago as a free agent
6. The Brewers re-sign Prince Fielder
7. Palin runs in 2012.
8. Romney picks Jindal as his VP
9. Rubio calls out Donald Trump over his comments re: Megyn Kelly
10. Rubio debates better in New Hampshire.
11. Rubio runs for Governor of Florida instead of the Senate in 2010.

I said this before Super Tuesday on that very PoD:
He glitched in New Hampshire. If he hadn't repeated himself in the debate then he would have come second in NH. Kasich would have dropped out, he's only still in because he came second. Jeb! might have also dropped out before South Carolina. Rubio would be the only estbalishment candidate and he'd have momentum. He and Trump would have a heated debate before South Carolina and 3-2-1 would work, Rubio would come 3rd in Iowa, 2nd in New Hampshire and first in South Carolina. Having actually won a state he'd have much more momentum, plus he still keeps getting bugged by the glitch, and there'd be no Kasich. Odds are Trump would end up like Pat Buchanan, as 538 thought, and we'd now be talking about how Rubio was the frontrunner.

I have made a list of alternate results for this PoD too, but I'd prefer to keep that secret until after the election so I can make a TL with this PoD.

2012 Ravens-Broncos

2012 AFC Divisional Playoff: Either Rahim Moore doesn't make a monumentous blunder in coverage, or Chris Harris holds on to the INT he dropped in OTL with about 4:00 left in the first OT. Broncos go on to beat Baltimore.

Willis McGahee comes back the next week off of IR, and the Broncos beat the Pats and 49ers to win the Super Bowl. McGahee and Keith Brooking retire on top.

In the 2013 NFL Draft, they are picking after the Packers instead of before. Green Bay takes Wisconsin RB Montee Ball in Round 2, and the Broncos decide to take a flyer on Alabama RB Eddie Lacy to pair with Moreno.

That season, they ride a more balanced attack into SB 48, and get by the Seahawks for their second straight win.

Manning decides to come back for one more year to try to break several records (he did break the TD pass record against SF that season) and to try to be the first QB to win three SB's in a row (and the first QB to win three NFL titles in a row since Bart Starr). However, he still gets hurt at the end of the year, Denver still gets knocked out against Indy, and the Osweiler era starts in 2015 after Manning retires.

What if Mitt Romney declined to run in 2012?
What if Hillaey Clinton declined to run in 2016?

The Pacers decide against trading their first-round pick (which turned out to be Kawhi Leonard) to San Antonio for George Hill in 2011.

The Panthers decide to trade a package of picks to the Rams (including their 2011 first-rounder) to move up to the top of the second round of the 2010 draft (so they could take Jimmy Clausen).

Arinze Onuaku doesn't get hurt, and Syracuse beats Duke to win the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
