Smith isn't going to be nominated. McAdoo could have been a possibility, but I'm not convinced he would've had enough votes to get a 2/3 majority. Without FDR, you'd probably see a compromise candidate unoffensive to all major wings of the party. Whoever the nominee is, he defeats Hoover.
